Lets see:

CWA permitted closing or res centers, outsourcing work to Manilla and El Salvador.
http://www.cwalocal3640.com/

We are excited the outsourcing has finally ended! I want to thank the CWA Local 3640 Executive Board, Stewards and Membership for the sacrifices we have given in the last 6 years. I applaud the diligence and hard work of the members as this is the hardest job in the airline industry. Customer Service Professionals face many stress factors from the job, from monitoring to quotas to difficulties in balancing work and family responsibilities. Employers who take the high road in labor relations, providing training and fair working conditions, know that an exceptional workforce is the key to the quality service that customers want.
By honoring our contract, bringing our jobs back, Us Airways is providing a service with a partnership with more than 6,000 reservations and customer service employees in our CWA/ IBT Association. With our experience and knowledge, we convey to the caller the pride we have in our airline. As US Airways customer service agents, we are very proud of the work we do.
We want our airline to succeed and we want to share in that success. We are held to a high standard of productivity which is challenging to attain at times.

What the Hell is going on BUF agents come to work and are met by corporate security and told to relinquish their
I.D's and TRAVEL CARD or they won't get paid. For God's sake its 5 days before christmas. Thanks CLT. PHL, PHX
for voting in this POS contract. Hope you and yours have a happy holiday season. How bout the hubs start a
collection and send to the BUF and MSY guys to help them through what you guys did by voting in this contract
where's the union at who's the agc for buf . I am very sorry this has happened to you guys I am even sorrier that
our union is letting this happen. I hold every officer accountable for this BS. They knew this language was in our contract and obviously haven't done anything about hell we have been in negotiation since last july wouldn't you
think this would be a very very important issue to try and resolve with the company. Hears an Idea. we just lost 8 stations how about the IAM cutting 1 agc . I mean if we don't have the city no more we don't need a blow hard
thats sucking up our dues money doing nothing.I never could understand how a union could or would negotiate
a contract for IT'S membership that ALLOWED closing citys and losing members. Once again the IAM and its
Leadership have failed the members how many more times do we have to get screwed over before the members wake
up and either get another union with a real set of balls. 700 before you come on here defending this POS union just
save I don't want to hear it nor do the folks that just got locked out of there job and turned to look over their shoulders to see if the UNION had the back and NO ONE was there. As usual

They didn't care about the 22 stations back in 05 either, so don't be shocked now about buf and msy....

This Sucks what has happened in BUF. I can guarantee if I haven't retired & have a vote EVERY one of the union people in office now will NOT get my vote.

Oh & one other thing this CLT employee voted NO on this & all the other pos contracts.

Just pointing out the IAM was not the only union bitten by outsourcing.

There are differences, 700, where I don't believe IAM 141 {UA Dominated] has ever done the US AIRWAYS workers fairly. When compared to the CWA, the CWA had protections once outside of bankruptcy, i.e., insourcing provisions. Thus, all reservation jobs are now back in the states. The CWA also has the scope that gives them the work at almost all stations. For instance, BUF, MSY, IND. There is absolutely no reason why the ramp keeps getting contracted out when someone has to do the job, and other US AIRWAYS workers are there. Unfortunately, mostly all one gets from the union is, 'Well, the company can do this", or, "THe company can do that".

Like the company, the union can do some things also but it is in 'no shape to', since over the last 3 years it has not worked hard at building the thing that it sorely needs in representing the masses. Therefore, we should not be surprised at what happened to BUF today. Today is the exact sorta thing one ought to expect when nothing has been built.

Representing the masses is alot more than just filing grievances. Without a constant building, representation will lack.

Onward!

Tim

Don't blame CLT or PHL! They voted against this POS contract in huge numbers!!!

Let me get this straight. Employees in BUF showed up for work and with out any prior notice (not that prior notice would have made it any more acceptable) where stopped by corporate security goons and threatened with having thier Christmas check held if they did not comply and surrender thier badges? WTF???? Was there any representitives from the IAM present when this was going on? Where was Mr. Wallis, finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping? Why do we pay these people 100k a year?

The BUF USairways AGC is (Drum roll please) Nicholas Handlow
Cell: 724 709-9330..Sounds like he is earning every penny of his 100k

WTF is wrong with you people? WE as a collective voted this POS in, in 2008. The writing was on the wall then, so don't go crying foul now. You can blame who you want but WE as a collective are to blame. You guys crack me up. Besides nobody held a gun to our heads to vote yes did they. Everybody that voted, voted for what was best for themselves. Thats why Fleet will never be a cohesive solidified group. Always with class 1 vs class 2, east vs west, and so on and so forth. Maybe next time we all will actually read the entire proposal instead of just the pay now wont we. Then again, probably not.
