I find it interesting that you find the survey a joke considering it is open for all to participate. The rank and file have easy access to participate without the cumbersome password protocol. It aint no secret what we want in the next contract. We all know it, and so does bloodsucking management. Management can attempt to skew the survey, but it will be futile. Professionals will compile the results for our Negotiation Team to take to the table with them. We don't need no stinking password.

I for one am happy with Negotiation Team and know they will achieve what cornhole and his clowns couldn't.

Freedom and Joker go ahead and flap your pie hole some more, so we all can have a good laugh.

That's right Freddie, the professionals Delaney appointed to your ND negotiating team, with Delaney as Chief Negotiator also representing our US Airways membership in place of Cornholio, will achieve an agreement far better than those Cornholio clowns who brought back a lousy $26.00 an hour for UAL in 2000.

Delaney, as Chief Negotiator for both airline committees, has been in UAL negotiations for nearly two years now, and while that doesn't seem to be going to well, we know nonetheless that he won't fold until he gets both UAL and US Airways the industry leading contract of at least $27.00 an hour that we deserve. Just like he and his team promised in his election 2008 campaign. Go ND!!!

Not happening... this next round of negotiations will be about scope, not pay, and maybe some benefits. And $27.00/hour won't happen unless you are willing to reduce FSA down to four stations (PHX, CLT, PHL and DCA), but then again, not the first time the membership was willing to sell the smaller stations down the river. I think even the IAM leadership realizes that fewer number of FSAs to pay union dues, even with an "industry leading contract", is a fool's errand as it would greatly reduce the total collection.

So allow me to understand your thinking... a man with two years experience in contract negotiations is going to drive a hard bargain of top pay, keeping all scope, more benefits, and doing it with a work force of replacable people with a high unemployment rate in the economy? Hey, keep hope alive and cheering away, because it only hurts when you cry.

So Commiserates Jester.

TA and Joker,

We will all be crying painless tears of joy when they deliver that industry leading contract.

Your such a pessimist Jester. Maybe you could do a better job at negotiating! NOT!!!! Give the ND team a chance, that's why we voted them in. At a district level, there is a lot of experience.

Joe,

I have discussed this matter ad nauseam in previous posts to this forum, and if you are so inclined, I am certain you can conduct a search on my detailed explanation as to my concerns. I think this mentality of "Let's Give Them a Chance" reminds me of the expression, "Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results."

So let's have the membership continue to be represented by people during the negotiations who lack little in the way of a formal education, modest experience, a pittance of training -- just as last time, and let's expect different results? "I.A.M" might come to mean, "Insanity Amongst its Membership" after the results of the next Tentative Agreement.

So Embellishes Jester.

In some ways jester is correct , in the traditional manner of union negotiations our hand is weak … That’s why we must take an unconventional approach to these discussions … It’s now 2011 , with today’s technology , social networking and a computer in almost every American household , why should we resort to 1980’s tactics ?

The point of protesting is to inform the public of a labor dispute is it not ? The point of striking is to keep people from using our product …

Why not kill two birds with one stone by waging a media campaign against our own company ? Why strike when you can get the American public to boycott our company ? US Airways has already come out and stated that their afraid of boycotts , via the letter sent to the state senate ( concerning illegal immigration ) …

Using adobe CS 5 even a union member with an average computer can now concoct glitzy TV and Photo ad’s to use however they like ..

Adobe CS 5 feel the POWER

Imagine a high quality ad attacking US airways for it’s stance in joining with the Phoenix chamber of commerce (which is currently suing the state of Arizona to stop SB 1070 ) for being a signatory to a letter which has by now been acknowledged to have shot down state legislation that would have made it harder for illegal immigrants to abuse our hospitals and schools ..

Think of it , we could take the US airways flag and transpose it over highlight portions of the letter and have a mean sounding voice say whatever we like , just like a political attack add ..

Only unlike political attack ad’s , illegal immigration REALLY riles people up …as in they CARE ..

Link illegal immigration to US airways , and the general public will be disgusted , obviously 100 % of the American public doesn’t care , but it’s a good bet that at least 30% of the public might care enough to stop flying on us … ( and I’m not talking about the segment of the public that can barely speak English and has no money to fly )

This is all very avant-garde , but entirely possible in my view …

I’m busy with other things right now , but as we get closer to negotiations I’ll try to whip up some high quality video and pictures so you folks can see what I’m talking about ..

You cant use the flag, US has it copyrighted.

I believe there might be a few ways around the use of the flag by either making six (?) changes to the logo or citing "trademark fair use" with a clear notice of not representing as a sponsorship or endorsement of the company, management or its shareholders, as not to confuse the general public. The use of "US Airways" would be permissible under law under so-called "Nominative Use" as cited in both Volkswagenwerk Aktiengesellschaft v. Church and Playboy Enterprises, Inc. v. Welles as use of name would be as descriptive else it would be difficult to express which airline we work for otherwise.

That is great news I hope it sticks

Why wouldnt it?

At WN, CSA and RES are all ready IAM, the only difference is the ramp at WN is TWU, so that might cause a vote for fleet.

Jester and Freedom…

Your suggestions make a mockery of Copyright and Trade Mark Regulations. I suppose you both wish to use the proceeds from the dues of our hard working IAM Members to litigate this lengthy, preposterous legal battle regarding Intellectual Property Rights all the way to the Supreme Court?

It ain’t workin’ fer yahh… look for another angle!

Goodness! My Dearest Mister Roabilly!

You were able to derive all of that and base a conclusion on the scantest of details, while conjecturing to the illogical ends?

My layperson's advice is hardly an attempt to make a "mockery" of Copyrights or Trademarks -- rather it is part of a defense in the freedom of expression within a robust exchange of ideas which not only convey the facts of who we are as FSAs, but also the ability to interject humor and parody in order to make pithy points to the public debate by creatively modifying the Corporate logotyped flag. For example, make the company flag into a suitcase with handles, and cash in the form of company profits bulging-out along its sides with Doctor Pepper straining to move the over-stuffed bag, while fleet service agents watch the spectacle... political satire arguably trumps nearly all restrictions of expression including trademarks, copyrights and slander, and our nation has a proud past of political cartoons in historical support. I suggest you review Huslter Magazine v. Falwell to the extremes in which that right has been defended by the US Supreme Court.

So alas, Mister Roabilly, the issue has been resolved, and not a dime will be sacrificed from the IAM leadership's "Beer, Bratwurst and Legal Expense" budgetary line in defense of the Freedom of Expression!

So Exudes Jester!
