Can anyone tell me when to expect to start seeing candidates names?..Or are those out already?
Can anyone tell me when to expect to start seeing candidates names?..Or are those out already?
Yea, guy asked a legit question, we don't have answers for...why, because communication is next to NOTHING with this union. We get tossed a bone once every 6-8 weeks with an IAM DL 141 update on the web about how the negotiations are going or a mailer to the house with nothing relevant to our situation. We are sucking hind tit here! The guy asks a legitimate question, but the bigger picture would be the legitmacy of our union as a whole! I am not trying to undermine anybody that is actually DOING something productive with the union (think negotiating comittee), but aside from that, there aint much productivity going on. AGC's are next to impossible to reach, calls go unreturned, and our dues get collected to the tune of $600+ a year. Do you feel that you are getting your moneys worth out of your dues paying? I don't, I got the rug pulled out from under my station and there IS NO SUPPORT from any angle, company or union. Yea, I am frustrated alright, nothing against you personally, Neci, I am venting more so than anything. I'm done with this inept airline and union that are devoid of true leaders. Furlough is a blessing in disguise, my ticket out of the outhouse... Good Luck!Damn, dude, relax. The guy asked when the candidates names were going to be published. No need to jump his #### for asking a legitimate question.

Mr NelsonBagchucker,
the reason why you have little to no answers, regarding anything, is because there is NO transparency because of a curtain that is placed to blanket any knowledge to the masses.
We have to tear down the curtain and then the transparency starts so that the company and union can't hide behind the curtain any longer. This is about you, it's about me, it's about us and it is going to get done. I texted my AGC, MF, a couple weeks ago the following text, " Hey Mike, we mentioned several things to RIch [Delaney] about 3 years ago regarding the disappearance of some things that weren't carried over in the contract, including addendum A. Also, MC pointed out about 30 changes that we never approved in the contract. What is going on with these items? You are my AGC so I'd like to know. THanks!" 9:47PM Nov 14
MF response: "Will try to find out or maybe you can call him and find out."
Two weeks later and I still haven't gotten a further response from my AGC. Of course, I'm not that naive to believe that my AGC, who has been in term for a couple years now, was clueless to our contract. Why the fuss? What is he hiding? Surely he can answer the very basic contractual question? Why punt to another AGC? Something is wrong brothers and sisters.
In this case, my agc, MF, didn't want to comment about where some of the things like Addendum A disappeared to. That's significant since this is the same AGC who is in charge of PVD and BDL who are specifically mentioned as being recognized as Class 1 stations in addendum A. Brothers and sisters, your contract is the "Bermuda Triangle Contract" because once things get in your contract, they disappear. This is a huge problem because when 2% isn't 2% and PVD isn't class one, something is wrong. It isn't like we are talking about small little things. And if MF really isn't sh**Tn me and really doesn't have a clue about the contract, then he should be fired on the spot.
Anyone from BDL or PVD??? What has MF told you? Are you class 1 or class 2? Or hasn't he given you a straight answer? What about all the other things in Addendum A? Where did they all go? It's a reasonable question and one that an AGC ought to answer immediately. Well, at least I tried to go firsthand to my AGC. It's amazing how 2% isn't really 2%, but then when things go the company's way, we get answers like "Beats me", or "Ill get back with you", or, "Dunno, try calling another AGC." Really? Really people??? Folks, we couldn't make this stuff up if we tried. Sheesh.
At any rate, the US AIRWAYS brothers and sisters have to focus on equal representation. Gone are the days where the US AIRWAYS brothers and sisters block vote for a UA president on the promise of equal representation. When the US AIRWAYS folks supported Delaney, they did so with the promise that Delaney would increase the District resources and be treated equally with United Arilines. Unfortunately, things have stayed all about United and the promises fell on deaf ears. Delaney will 'sprout' like a 4 year cicada and once again rise to the occasion in CLT and PHL and around the US AIRWAYS system because of political season. This time, US AIRWAYS members need to give him the appropriate break room reward for his absence.
And with a pending merger with AA as a reasonable assumption, the last thing we need is another IAM 141 UA President making VERY IMPORTANT decisions regarding YOUR seniority and benefits. Cripes, last time the IAM 141 UA president pawned you off by paying the TWU $500,000 to walk away in return for the IAM giving the TWU members YOUR profit sharing. To be sure, that worked to the benefit of the previous westies, but now the westies and east siders are One. Don't expect any IAM 141 president that doesn't have US AIRWAYS blood to protect your seniority and benefits going through a merger as much as one of your own would. Cripes, they screwed their own United rampers in the continental merger so what would make a US AIRWAYS ramper think that they won't screw them??

Tim Nelson

IAM member,Mr Nelson
Maybe it just seems like it's all about United because we just went through a merger and are in the middle of negotiations. Do you think? I'm curious to know how we screwed over our own members at United? Inquiring minds want to know. We also have a fairly good relationship with management at your company. What do you recommend, throw down the gauntlet and piss off management so they decide to contract out all the remaining stations?
BTW, it's a proven path that if you fear management, it puts people in the streets.Mr Nelson

Mr NelsonIAM member,
To begin with, during the election against the IBT, our organizing plan was clear and supported by the entire eboard, including delaney. The plan was to finish what we started, i.e., focus on United only negotiations, then and only then, proceed to transition talks. Immediately after the IAM won the vote, Delaney flipped like a pancake and walked out of UA only talks to give UA management exactly what it wanted. Unlike the IBT, which fought for the UA mechanics after UA management made an appeal to the NMB to try to force the IBT into transition talks. The NMB sided with the IBT and said the IBT has every right to stay in UA only talks and to secure a contract before entering transition negotiations.
In the end, the UA ramp got NOTHING when it's leadership decided to side with management and waive its UA only talks, but the UA mechanics stayed firm and now got a T/A that gives them an immediate 10% raise and increased job security. Throw in a $75,000 buyout and a $12,000 bonus. I'm not saying the IBT T/A is worthy but if the IAM was going to flip on folks and scrap talks, then it should have at least secured a contract before it waived those talks and sided with management. Never mind that it lied through its teeth to its own members. So, now the UA ramp is stuck in the endless pit of transition talks.
Apply that same stupid action to a potential American/US AIRWAYS merger and it's most likely going to be the same dopey thing, i.e., negotiate for 2 years and get nothing, then scrap the talks for transition talks after any potential merger.
Screw American and the TWU. The IAM has to finish US AIRWAYS talks first before other things come to pass. Our members come first before the obtainment of more dues from thousands of more members. The AGC's will say that is exactly what they intend to do but none of them have any juice if the Union Prez does the same thing he did to his own.

Tim Nelson
Your company has 6,000 members. United has 22,000 members. Even if us scareways blocks their votes, you will still fall short. Maybe you should have figured a little better and then you would have realized why no us scareways ticket ever won.Bagchucker,

What you call election rhetoric, the United members call a lie. What is your interpretation of why the UA ramp leaders refused to finish UA only talks and now have nothing for thier members, but the IBT successfully fought UA management when UA management went to the NMB and tried to force the IBT into transition talks so it wouldn't have to deal with the past wage sacrifices and job security issues? Now, the IBT has a TA with the UA MX that provides an immediate 10% pay raise, $75,000 buyout, and a $12,000 bonus, and increased job security? Now, the IAM 141 has nothing to show for it when they could have finished what it promised and got a wage boost for the UA ramp and some much needed job security for the CO ramp.Mr Nelson
Don't confuse election rhetoric with representation. You must have known that it would eventually come down to us having an obligation to represent the former scamsters when we won that election. Combined talks made sense.
Now we have our PCE election and we will win that without you since you were fired for not performing your duties. Make sure you wear your hearing protection and don't go out without your parka since I hear it is so cold on that ord ramp.
