I've been gone for a few day's. Has the union put anything out on
the new attendance policy? I hope my worst dreams aren't coming to haunt me.
Some of cheapsuites guy's keep telling me " I TOLD YOU SO ".
RD needs to put this company on notice, it's time to stop the Canale era
and start the ND-08 era.
I hope someone can get hold of some good info and post it cause my mgr is
up my rear for not taking this test about attendance.
Your company is putting the screws to IAM members with this new policy as a way to recoup the new sick payments it will have to make to fleet members. The letter below is the wishy washy letter that RD threw together. Also, handlow was removed as the US AIRWAYS pointman and MC was slotted in. Handlow was hardcore take no prisoners, was ordained of the membership to be the pointman, and exactly what you needed against a company that makes war on our brothers and sisters in Fleet. RD's 'quick hook' to remove him after Nicky set some managers straight was in 'poor taste'.

TO: COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN – USAIRWAYS
SUBJECT: COMMITMENT TO SUCCESS ATTENDANCE AND PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
December 1, 2008 is the implementation date of USAirways new attendance/discipline policy commonly referred to as the “Point Systemâ€. It is important to note that this is a Company directed policy and not a negotiated aspect of our Agreement. The IAM has not been party to any discussions regarding the development or implementation of this policy.
We have reviewed the published policy, in the same form as has been presented to all employees, and have requested further, more detailed explanation from the Company regarding this attendance policy. On its face, there are many details of the new policy we believe violate, or potentially violate, our Agreement. We intend to aggressively pursue those issues through the Grievance Procedure, as they occur, and will fully appeal any grievance of merit.
I encourage all of you to immediately contact your assigned Assistant General Chairman to understand our approach to the varied issues and our desire to coordinate Grievances to give us the best opportunity for success through the Grievance Process.
I thank you, in advance, for defending and enforcing our Agreement.
Fraternally yours,
Rich Delaney
