and when they're REALLY UPSET--suggest they write the Dept of Healthportation....these complaint numbers are the only ones that your bosses at Wendy's care about....

They eventually decide to care about the Health Rating. But another figure they care about is the number of free Frostys you hand out at the window. I'll bet they stand up and take notice when the number of $800 checks starts going through the roof.

From what I understand, QIK is not so QIK when it comes to calculating appropriate invol compensation (2x value of segment not to exceed $800 or 2x/$400 depending on timing of reroute) and that a lot of drive-thru workers say screw it and just issue the max to move the meat and get to the next person.

According to the DOT's Air Travel Consumer Report, Wendy's involed 5,854 people between January and September 2008. Erring on the low side, if each of those were paid just $400, that's $2,341,600. If we go with the higher $800 figure, that would be $4,683,200 in cash payments. And we also know that a lot of workers went through a lot of heartache to prevent a lot of invols, so both of those figures would be higher.

You can bet your sweet bippy that would get noticed and would prove your point prontissimo. Not sure of the ramifications at the agent level for doing that - I know there would be a'plenty at the manager and director level.

Gangwal would go nuts when you rang that invol bell

Gangwal would go nuts when you rang that invol bell

You know, he was a tyrant and a class A Richard Cranium, but he ran a tight ship. None of this Arizona Loosey Goosey business.

From my seat in Consumer Affairs, he responded personally to scores and scores of customer letters addressed directly to him. He wanted details - thoroughly researched, he wanted a personal briefing and guilty parties held accountable. And none of this "Thank you for writing Rakesh Gangwal. He has asked me to reply on his behalf" stuff. It was printed on his personal stationary and he signed them himself.

I should know, for a long time I was the unfortunate one who had to do all of this excrutiating work. I (and eventually others) wrote the letters for him...he didn't do it himself, but the picayune information he wanted to know and get involved in was mind boggling.

You think that happens with Parker? Ha. And again, Ha.

In the summer of '99 (I know, a century ago) I was a passenger service supervisor for HP at PHX. HP was just coming off the FAA naughty list for maintenance issues that arose when William Franke decided to cut a lot of maintenance personnel, spare parts, etc. and the FAA caught a bunch of problems and got a wee bit peeved.

hp,

I remember that well. I worked for the other airline that had a strong presence at HP's two main operation's, PHX and LAS. We had to devise a new accounting program just to track the extra income we were getting each day. Since we were a non-interlining carrier, we devised a system where we took HP's tickets through out the day and sent over an invoice. I was working night's and HP had the large LAS redeye operation. I came to know the accountant's and sup's quite well. We ended up adding an extra section on the report given to the Station Manger on how much we took in, where the pax were going, etc. It was amazing.

Experience and seasoned passenger service agents should be value and consulted. Some agents have seen all this before each year with a different twist. Newcomers come and go and have to earn there abilities or go back to selling real estate or become a flight attendant .being a long term agent has a lot of knowledge and tenacity. The ones that leave can’t handle the involvement it takes to get management to change. I guess you just got a tee shirt
I got my tshirt before 9/11. I earned my valium pin during cash register cutover and should be getting my alcohol abuse pin sometime within the next year if this retard operation keeps daring me to start a fun new unhealthy habit. Soaking it all in and beating my husband just isn't working the way it used to. If I'm wet behind the ears at Wendy's it is because the frosty machine overflowed and some got on me. I'm *no* newcomer.

HA HA HA HA!!! Someone sent my last rant to yet another manager because I just got an anonymous email in my personal email about watching what I say.

Guess what? Since Im giving my opinion as a WENDYS FRYCOOK about WENDYS I think announcing that the department of healthportation would LOVE to hear about stuff that's going on is a fantastic idea. I also think that I will start offering refunds of frosty deprived people PER company policy more aggressively because it is the consumer's choice what they want to take.

I only stay because there are people that tell me I am the only one ever, that even acted like they cared. I know that's not true, I know there are more of us out there that care, but this party's punch bowl is too full of turds, I dont blame anyone for not wanting to touch it with a ten foot straw.

Until then, hate me today...hate me tomorrow...hate me so you can finally see what's good for you. - blue october

PS. Is a Frostymachine that is supposed to deliver frosties to another city, that is in the middle of the ocean and islandlike and requires a passport, is it allowed to make an unscheduled frostystop in, say, a state right before the ocean and let 50 extra frosties off because they frosty machine that was planned was overfilled by 50 lbs of ice cream?

Oh, is this an airline forum? I'm sorry, I get so Wendy's amped. For example, if DL had a flight that went from ATL to SJO nonstop, and those brainiacs in inventory control overbooked their MIA flight by 50, is it legal to at the last minute throw those 50 people on the SJO flight and then make an unscheduled stop in MIA? I was just wondering if that was legal.

I'm not saying that it happened, at any airline, especially Delta, I just had a dream that happened last week and wondered if that were a good idea. Just saying.

Yes, we were on very good terms with folks from your airline. We represented quite a bit of business for your airline at that time and we were always treated well by your folks. That is one reason why you never see me take any pot shots at your airline. I know quite a few folks that went to work there and loved it.

Snn,

You are a seasoned employee! If I were a supervisor I would be happy that you were the queen bee of the drive-thru.

I have experienced the same chaos at my job! Your humour and quick wit are just a few of the many traits you posses for a great window queen. Keep up your good work. Don't let the stepford wife like supervisor interrogation get you down.

I like my crown royal on ice....lately it has just been neat....if there is a glass around!!

P.S. The supervisor still has purple crayon in his teeth! And you know his excuse of not being available is true if he claims to be buried in paper work...because...his favorite coloring book character "Barney" has been transferred on to his forehead!

PICTURE IT!!

Chin up and you are the SUPER DUPER SIZED QUEEN of the drive thru!!

Did Crown just call you fat?

I thought he called her a size queen, but I bet Floyd will fight her for that title. 😛h34r:

SNN, as long as the paperwork was completed correctly for the intl flight, I wouldnt think there would be a legal issue on getting the plane to stop in MIA. On the other hand, they probably wouldnt want to touch an international flight (or one flying outside the four corner states) because of the possibility of things going wrong (hard to believe I know). On the other hand, we've tried to get a flagstop recently and instead of (possibly) busting 20 conx from the other city, they'd rather we overnight 60 local people instead. 20 or 60, hmmmm, let me think about it.  These arent the good old days where you could just pop in and pick up a group and keep going. Cant disrupt the apple cart or we'll never get things running right around here. (Ok I cant believe I just said that with a straight face, honest, not even a crack of a smile... hahahahahahahaha)
