What's new

January will be a very bad month at American

That is really interesting news.

What is most interesting is that AA's Mechanic Labor cost seem to be so low, that Air Canada can send their own work to AA and at the same time contract in Delta's work.

That may not be "something wrong with the picture" you paint, but it surely does make one wonder how Air Canada does such a thing at a profit.
<_< So what's your take on the fact that to do these Air Canada 767s, we had to send you (TUL)our one line of aa 767s, and another of 757s? They tell us this is only a temerary move! But every line they've taken out of here so far,has never returned!!! That has a lot of people arround here concerned that now that we've cut all aa silver tails out of here, it leaves the door open for a full fledged MRO operation to "evalve"!?? And if aa's thinking is going in that direction,I do believe it would probably encompose all third party work, no matter where in the system it may be! Something to think about!

<_< And the bad news continues to come! Twenty SAAB 340bs to be worked here at MCI and returned to leaser! We've come a long way from 747s, L1011s, 767s! Now SAABs? 😉 Oh well, a planes, a plane!

<_< Alcoa Aluminum Co. owns a "STC" to convert 757s to Cargo aircraft! Door and all! We'll be doing the convertion along with a "C" check! This will be the "Big" one people! This is the one that will bring people back off the street!
MCI...

Are you sure you're getting this work as I just received this months Overhaul and Maintenance magazine and it shows Cascade Aerospace doing the work starting back in November. You might want to look into this.

Do you know what airline they flew with? Also, do you all have to take any kind of training to work on a SAAB 340 since it is different from what you have been working on?

Good point about the training...I guess they are going to train a bunch of mechanics to work on 20 planes they will never see again as they are being returned.

Unless others that operate the SAAB 340 decide to send them there for mx.

<_< Your right about Cascade. They've done the first 757, but Aloca is not happy with their workmenship, and they've had that aircraft about a year now, and it still hasn't flown! Yes, from what I've heard, the first Aloca aircraft should show up on Feb.7th!!!But until that happens?? 😉 Thanks for the heads up! I will look into it!

<_< This is something they just sprung on us! I thought they said these were American Eagle planes, though I may be wrong about that! It's got to the point where I really don't care what color the aircraft I work on are painted! Training? You bet! We'll have to! They said we'de be going though at least the Gen. Fam course. I bebieve it's a two week course?

Would you care for a few with a Red Tail? 😀
<_< Go crowel back under the rock you craweled out from under Scab!!!! I may not be one of the TWU's top fans, but I'm still pro-Union!!!!Our local people are also talking to a South American Airline, and an Australian Airline as well! That's what I was refurring to when I said I didn't care what color their airplanes are painted! For once things seem to be going in the right direction! Foreign countries to the U.S.!!! But time will tell if anything comes of these "talks"!!!

Im sorry MCI, I just read that and couldn't pass that up. Let me ask this real quick, if NWA decided they wanted you to work their A-330 c-checks and offered you a 10 year contract instead of shipping that work off overseas, would you work it?

<_< What's the matter Scab! You can't handle them anymore!!?? 😛

Just having fun MCI, don't get your panties all twisted up. 🙂

<_< Son--- I was working on Aircraft when you were still peeing in your pants! Pulled a tour in Viet Nam! Worked for TWA 30+ years, now aa! So don't give me this "panties all twisted up" crap!!! Obviously your Mama didn't teach you the differance between right, and wrong! Go home son! Pick up your marbels, and just go home!!!

That's it in a nutshell. Not only doesn't he know he is wrong but he wants to argue about it too. 🙄
