Thanks.
Do you guys have your schedulers taped. We do. You guys really need to grow some balls. First you ask for a supervisor. If they insist you "fly it and grieve it", tell them you are refusing to fly because scheduling is breaking the f/a contract. Of course if the conversation isnt recorded it does you no good. You're Joking right? "Fly it and Grieve it" is the common response. You call that empathetic? whenever the "Reserve Committee" has a meeting, they discuss the same issues, and come up with the same results. . . which is "we have to look into it". Nothing changes though.
TAPED? I'm on the east here and is anyone else aware of how PHL assigned trips while in "assignment mode" yesterday? I was assigned a trip into my regular OFF days. FIRST it clearly states in section 11-11 #3 b #2 that it is to go in inverse seniority order. The company stated that I was wrong along with our reserve rep. THEN on top of that they are to disrupt the least amount of days. I had TWO of my days taken away with this trip assignment while others JUNIOR to me did not get the trip. They said that when in assignment mode they go in LTO order and not inverse seniority order. It is sooo clearly written it's pathetic. On top of that I SHOULD have been in a higher bucket due to a claim I had put in the day before. I had a three day trip that paid 13 and change due to a d/h. When you go to option 23 in catcrew you put in the calculation to get to 15 hours. I was told by scheduling that that time to get you to 15 is PAY NO CREDIT. It is again CLEARLY written and they finally agreed. Well as of right this minute it STILL is not showing the proper time for my trip. During all of this our reserve rep in PHL was awesome. She knows what she's talking about and is on the ball with stuff. Once your in the situation though filing a grievance does WHAT for the individual at the time the situation happens? So here I sit on a trip while I COULD have been home. I did the right thing and flew a trip that got back on the third only to get assigned on the 4th. Ya see, just as I told the scheduling supervisor, "This is why when you thumb through the option 18 reserve screen you have page after page of N/A's next to names". Reserves are FED UP and will call off during the holiday. Ya do the RIGHT THING and you get screwed. I can assure you this won't happen again to me. THAT much i DO know.
Besides the obvious of realizing US is anything BUT the model Company they portray- exactly WHY do the New Hires quit in such high numbers in the West? (A certain amount of attrition is one thing but WHAT are critical issues that make the newbies quit. It can't be the idea of being on Reserve because ALL the majors have senior bases that incl senior reserves....Pit is well over 20 years and CLT is at least 18 years. DEN & SEA for UAL is pretty senior too.) Please shed some info........Heard the West RSV system is even worse than the East.....ugh !
You're kidding right? You have a year and are in the middle, and so LAS is senior? Only in the world of fruitflies. One last thing about LAS ... Alot of very senior people, but they have other things going on. I have a year and am in the middle. Nice people though![]()
Sorry about long rant.
