McCain Speaks

Awww..I didn't mean to hurt wuggums' feelings..again = "Take care...best check on the ham."..especially the "ham" part it seems

PS: I mean ZERO disrespect to your father in law..be it was HE that "fought valiantly"..and you do yourself NO credit by any attempted, personal association, by way of striving to "justify" your own...ummm...err.."beleifs". Put HIM on the "phone"..and I'll happily talk.

who valiantly fought in Vietnam and just recently died from illness directly related to his time there.

Maybe you should re-read my post (I have quoted it above for your reference). I would love to "put him on the phone".

Another thing...I have said nothing of my beliefs. The only thing I have said is that you have "hatred of all who disagree with you." You may be surprised to find out that I agree with some of your views. I do not agree with your rabid personal attacks on those that do not have the same outlook as you.

I am glad to have your son as one of my representatives serving our country. I am also glad that you are proud of him, as you should be.

I also agree with KcFlyer's statement
And I still maintain that if there was a draft (and if we invade Iran, there will be, IMHO), then you will see a lot more patriotic conservatives start to speak out loudly against the war when it's THEIR kid being sent to the front lines.

All is not as black and white as you make it to be.

Blah, Blah...(Insert "heroic" run to Canada/etc)
He's fought, I've fought...YOU..haven't,

Aside from the fact that your tantrum had nothing to do with the comment I made about McCain, the reason I referred to his comments is that he does have experience with combat and I do not. He unlike you can have a rational discussion with out having to resort to insults and childish behavior so I trust his judgment far more than yours. By the way, Colin Powell is also against torture. He stated publicly that he was against the 'clarification of the portion of the Geneva Convention dealing with torture. Powell speaks out Do you know better than them? Are you really that arrogant? Or maybe, just maybe you have a different point of view. Last I checked, grown adults with different life experiences have that.

As for the rest of your tantrum ... what ever.

Huh? What TF am I supposed to "attack" you for? Sigh.."Liberals" must have some bizzarre sense of self "importance".

I'm sorry but given the two post you have just made you want to accuse liberals of self importance? You have a future in stand-up calling your name.

Your arrogance and ignorance are stunning. You make statements left and right with no basis in fact several of which I have called you on. Your inability and unwillingness to respect the beliefs of others is pathetic. Feel free to actually address and issue and respond to an question with out insult or innuendo if you have that ability. Insulting me will not change my opinion. I am open to a logical argument.

How you can comment on Tech's father-in-law is beyond me. Do you speak with the dead as well. This is a man you have never spoken with, someone who has never posted here and yet you know him better than his son-in-law. Talk about arrogance.

Different times.
Different culture.
If JFK were alive today and express an interest in running for president he would be laughed off the stadium as a radical right-winger.

And Barry Goldwater would be lambasted for his "liberal" views.

Question from NPR reporter Renee Montagne:

"Well, there would be those who would say that that message has been sent and heard even beyond the region. What, realistically, could the U.S. in particular do to prevent, as you say, other sorts of influence that the Russians would like to exert in that region?"

Well, I think, in the short term, there is limited options, certainly, that we have. Long term, I think we may be in a period of relations with Russia where we have to make sure that we help our friends, that we do what we can to protect democracies and freedom, and make sure that we understand that there is a new era that obviously began when President Putin took over, and so we will adjust our relations accordingly.

And I don't think that there's going to be a re-ignition of the Cold War; don't get me wrong. I don't think there's going to be nuclear-weapons buildups, et cetera, but I think that Russian behavior is not acceptable. And we will do what we can to maintain our alliances and our friends and make the Russians understand that this kind of behavior is not a part of what we view as the 21st century.

Huh? Is there a plan in there somewhere?

There are those who suffer from what has been labeled " the God complex". They can not see things that blend into grey. They only see things as black or white. They have no objectivity, it is either thier way or the highway. "You are either with us or against us" sound familiar? IMHO they have personality disorders. Lets see the word that comes to mind is ethnocentric. They see the world from only thier cultural perspective. Others who have grown up with different beliefs are wrong no question. For them to even consider that their own beleifs are flawed in anyway is sacriledge. It would be to hard to even try to delve(sp) into thier own psyche and objectively ask the hard questions. Just my opinion. I love psychology. LOL
