Yeah, maybe yoru right... We can all have YOUR attitude while we end up shutting down, and standing in the unemployment line. I don't know what I was thinking. Let's keep on gripping about these types of issues. You are so wise.
Sweetie: If you think that waving some pom poms and cheering has anything of substance to do with sustaining a viable corporate entity, enhancing productivity, altering it's strategic focus, or otherwise accomplishing squat, other than to give you a warm fuzzy feeling......well..let's just note that we're not on the same perceptive page here. As for my "attitude"?..You've gotta' be kidding me. What's at all cheerleader non-approvable by noting that any reasonable minds would have put the operation together with the least intended employee friction? = "Why not have wisely chosen something that neither "side" of the contentious pilot group could have taken any umbrage at?"
Ummmmm..."unless of course, the actual intent IS to keep the employees at each other's throats?....."
If any rational management wants to motivate employees...they honestly know better than to just pass out some pom poms and Koolaide for the long run, and keep hoping for mindless submission and "joy"...regardless of how well that apparrently works on some, for awhile at least, or not...
I've not the least beef with trying to do whatever any and all can to make the place succeed and survive. Please don't think that for even a moment, as it's certainly not the case at all with me. Where we differ seems to be in having any ability to put real faith in the decision making processes to date. You noted: "I can't believe anyone, with the exception of the WWF would want to raise an issue that would pit employees against employees." My problem with that, having survived a bit of business schooling myself...is that I know better, and realize that the most vile connivances are often perfomed on employee groups for purely manipulative gains......One's even directly instructed in "Lie, Cheat and Steal" if you will, within the hallowed halls of our esteemed educational institutions for business training....Trust me on that.
