NEW ROUTES---Announcement When/Where

Heard from a friend... Doug will announce our new destinations this thursday in PHL at the COC at Noon.

Trying to get more info...post more Wednesday.
And the bad news is ...... all of the new flying will be done by Mesa's CRJ-900's ! YIPEEEEEE !!

Quit it with the flame-bait folks. No need to steer this down the wrong path.

when the crj 900 is able to fly to europe you let me know, ok. you really need to retire early

Mira Flores is not bad!
Indeed there was a meeting in CLT today to discuss the A330 (2), B757(2 or 3) and EMB190 (25) orders to be announced this week. Only we aren't supposed to talk about it as Embraer would have given better rates while we were in bankruptcy and now that we have money in the bank, the prices will probably go up!

They had 25 Embraers. Since they sold them for so cheap, why dont they just buy them back.

The whole contract express carrier flying the same plane as mainline idea is way too fishy.

I'm confused by your second paragraph. Sorry but could you please elaborate? Who is flying the same plane as mainline besides RW taking the 170's?

Republic. The 170 is the same plane as the 190. Its like having them fly 737-300s and mainline fly the 400. its inevitable that usair will try to contract out the 190 too because they already have people flying the same thing cheaper.

Ok, that's what I thought you were saying. I wish we could get the 170's back. I don't think that they'll farm out the 190's, they would have a riot on thier hands and the loyal FF's would revolt. I think it's time for the Hay Days of the non-wholly owned regionals to come to an end and be limited to serve the EAS cities for the mainline carriers. Some of these regionals are getting a little too cocky for me. Anyway is there really going to be an announcement tomorrow about getting more planes???

I haven't heard a thing from the new international announcements. Did they happen today in PHL? What where they?

the 190's are coming to mainline. from what i understand parker would like the 170's in house as well but that was a deal signed by the old management so parker really could not break the agreement. and as unfortunate as it is that deal put money into this merger. also i heard that a few 170's will still be on usairways property so that we would not have to do proving runs on the 190's. don't know if that's true or not. someone please clarify this.

so let them keep those 170s but get them out of US Express. Just make them go away. If they sold 757s you wouldnt let Mesa still fly them as US Air Express. By the way if they do keep some 170s who flies them, maa is gone may 28th and if they put a single non-maa mainline crewmember on that plane then it will really hit the fan.

Place an order for EMBs of varying sizes and have mainline service on them, put the mainline employees that kept the customers loyal back into the network. And that deal didnt put a dime into the merger- Air Wisconsin did and thats great. Republics just paid retnetion bonuses. In fact USAirways turned down Reublic and Mesa as investors.

It would be great if US ordered some new planes, hopefully it will create jobs and bring actual us airways people back to work. Hopefully the news is positive tomorrow.

Every thread seems to veer off and talk about CRJ'S and 170's!!!

I hope this announcement welcomes Milan, Stockholm and Lisbon to the European Family...

All we need now is a route to Sydney!!.. I know no aircraft
no range, no interest etc.. but just saying

A-West will be buzzing in the evening in the summer with all the Euro departures

Why cant we add the A340 to the fleet and run say PHL-HNL-SYD. Or, could we use a A330 PHX-HNL-SYD.
