What's new

New US commercials

Didja know the Cold Stone guy used to work at HP?
FA, I think.

No..that was the Oreganos guy. Used to be an FA in PHX. However, Cold Stone began in Tempe with it's first store at McClintock/Southern. Guy started making ice cream for his kids and looks what happened...wow.

DCA, not negitivity, reality. We had a Sr VP in our station the other day and HIS WORDS were so true. The COMPANY wants employees here not as a career, but a JOB. The only ones they care about, is themselves and how much MONEY They can make. They care not about the little guys.

better watch it Hope777...he may call you a Disagreeable Dyke.

The new music isn't bad, but the "old" (i.e. recent) US Airways music was pretty good too. It would be nice if they continued to use that in certain situations, but it's likely that they won't since everything from the old US seems to be going "buh-bye."

I had an interesting conversation about this very thing with an old US F/A on Sunday while we were "stuck" on the tarmac during the storms this past week.

US is made of up a variety of cultures (AL, PI, PSA, trump, mohawk, empire and now HP). It truely is a "MUTT" airline, as this F/A put it. And it's this unique "mutt" that has helped shape US today. Sometimes it's not been an easy transition, but let's hope that going forward this "mutt" continues to get better (and bigger).

Same as the United States of America. Made up of differnt people from different areas with various backgrounds, all united under the American banner. If the guys in control are clever, they will see what a gold mine it has. Take that and build on it. I liked these commercials and it would be a pitiful shame if they didnt make it to television. Seemed well done and well thought out. Great Job!!! Now keep the ball rolling in that direction 🙂🙂

I really like them. Starts to show how the airline is being reinvented!

THOSE COMMERCIALLS WERE AWESOME !
they made me happy how this airline is coming back
i was in LGA last weekend, got bumped of of like 20 flights, every flight leaving is jam packed !
US better make money now !
this is awesome

Will they also come "east" and get eastern companies and people to express their joy with USAirways?

I don't know, seems to me that 4 of 7 commercials are from executives of East Coast companies...

Oracle - Redwood Shores, CA
Coca Cola - Atlanta, GA
PetsMart - Phoenix, AZ
Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law - Washington, DC
BriarTek - Alexandria, VA
Cold Stone Creamery - Phoenix, AZ
DHL - Plantation, FL

Advertising nationally costs more money than the executive suite feels the revenue it would generate is worth, which cannot be tracked quantitatively. These commercials play during sponsored events (i.e. Diamondbacks, Cardinals, and Eagles games). They are targeted to a specific, business-oriented market to highlight US Airways' differences in product to generate positive brand recognition in monopoly markets.

And you can bet that DL will be none to happy that Coca Cola is appearing in a US ad.

I like the way the Bus flies past the people at the end of the ads. I especially liked the Mr. Dull ad and Mr. Levisay's also. Mr. Levisay seems to enjoy the flyby; funny.
Also, It's great that they used the building engine roar.

Except for the lady it seems that everyone was also selling their own product. Maybe, Coke, Oracle, and the others would go halfsies on the ads?

I noticed that too! I figured with their "product" placement it was probably cheaper for us to make and show the advertisement. Great way to advertise and get two products sold at once! I too loved the fly bys.....

US most defintately is a MUTT airline. When you are in CLT you most definately get a different energy than when you are in PHL or even PIT.

You can still feel PI in the US system for sure and when you are in LAX or SAN you can feel the old PSA culture.

US Airways really is a mix of cultures. PHX and LAS will always have the HP feel.

All of that mix has come together under one flag and one name U·S AIRWAYS

I was thinking more "northeast" actually.....PHL, LGA and DCA based companies too. Sorry I was being regionalistic...(is that even a word?) LOL

I know advertising nationally costs a heck of a lot but brand recognition can gain you a lot of business too. I used to work for KODAK. And everyone knows who they are just by their name. YEAH.....USAirways does let everyone know that you are an airline, but even UNITED AIRLINES manages atleast 1 commercial a day in PIT! Sometimes twice; I've seen it in 1 hour of television watching recently.

The other thing that these commercials would do is say "HEY...USAIRWAYS is still around and even better than before". I think it's time to really ANNOUNCE that USAirways is taking off and get rid of the Pardon Our Dust signs.

Or maybe I'm being premature. Has the dust settled?

Unfortunately the dust has not settled and will not settle until contracts are firmed up. Meaning everyone on both sides of the country are under ONE contract. There is a LONG way to go.

I really liked the "transformation" music we had made for us... there was one for "latin" "europe" "traditional" and i think "carrib"...

too bad they dumped it.
