Well on the plus side that will give plenty of time for the attrition to make the NIC a moot point. If the projections that the company made in the crew news about the newhire upgrades are accurate everybody currently on the east will be retired or captains in 5 to 7 years. The west...errr...not so much. But hey it will make the integration go much smoother then, only thing left to fight about is who gets what airplane since it will all be captain spot.....oh wait. Hmm the guys hired from now until then...they might be troublesome on getting a vote to pass. You know how the new generation is they expect to be captains in 5 years now a days. they may not like the idea of integrating the west! 🙂

Don't hyperventilate Move....the last part is a joke!
Except all of those guys are junior no matter what method you use. Are you telling them DOH is the only way? Because all those guys will be junior when we finally get a contract. Or we use the Nicolau and those guys are still junior.

Now how many of those poor new hires are going to stick around for 5-7 years to make $125 as a captain?

Oh wait. That is top of scale. What is a 5 years captain rate on LOA 93? Less than a commuter captain makes.

LOA 93 snapbacks was a pipe dream due to the unfathomable quantity of wealth that would have been transfered from the priviledged to mere laborers. The 3% was effectively in the same boat. CoC same thing.

A more logical explanation is that nothing USAPA does is based in reality.

Is that the reason USAPA wouldn't allow the west pilots to remain in class while they addressed the new hires? The have some secret way of making them think that the current F/O's upgrades are worth them signing on for LOA93 for life?

Almost as bad as ALPA!
Except ALPA got you the highest wages in the industry and every extra penny above book rates (profit sharing, 3%, lump sum) you've received in the past 7 years.

USAPA's cost you hundreds of thousands, but at least they held the gate open to let a few more F/O's slime through.

Hope you easties didn't spend this money!!!! 😀

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]LOA 93 (3%) Grievance Update[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Earlier today the Company released its quarterly 10-Q SEC filing in which it asserted that the arbitrator for the LOA 93 matter has issued two decisions in US Airways' favor, regarding both the restoration and the 3% post amendable date raises. Although the Union does not normally disclose arbitrators' opinions when in a draft form, in light of the Company’s disclosure, we believe we have a very unusual and extenuating circumstance which dictates a change in this long standing practice of maintaining strict confidentiality -- for this specific dispute only.[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]Last week, the Parties received a revised draft opinion from Arbitrator Kasher on the restoration of pay rates that the Union believes was due on January 1, 2010, and an additional supplemental opinion on the issue related to the 3% raises which we believe were due each May 1 beyond the amendable date per the Restructuring Agreement.[/background]

[background=rgb(245, 245, 245)]The Grievance Committee has previously disclosed that the Union had not prevailed in the draft opinion from the Arbitrator on the restoration question. The draft opinion on the 3% question provided by the Arbitrator last week is also unfavorable to the Union. The draft opinion on the 3% contains troubling factual errors, inconsistencies, and an apparent misunderstanding of the question raised. In order to preserve the integrity of the process we are not able to provide specific details of the draft at this time, but we have requested an Executive Session with the Arbitrator as a matter of urgency. We know many will have questions, as do we, but we believe it prudent to make every attempt at using the process afforded us in advocating the Union’s position before we disclose any further details. Please understand that we will be unable to expand on the details until the System Board process becomes final.[/background]

Usapa's winning!

But you'd agree to putting out a TA with the Nic just to find out, wouldn't you?

Let's look at that. Let's say USAPA could change it's C&BLs tomorrow to remove the DOH language. And then they decided that to move things forward the would put out a TA with the Nic to see what the pilots really wanted. What would you approve of being sent out? The Kirby, with no scope? Anything Parker wanted to? What?

I hate gloating no matter what side it comes from. How about we just hold a representation election and dump USAPA. Merger or not, we'd be far ahead of where USAPA has taken us.

That might actually be a good idea at this time. It would let us see where the pilot group stands. You going to do it?

Speaking of Parker gifts, did you get your "I was on LOA 93 for 10 years and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" shirt?

He's also has "Ask me how LOA 93 helped Parker make a $245M profit" if you're interested.

I ordered one but got the "I sent Marty 5 mill and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!" By mistake. No returns, no exchanges.

USAPA is the ONLY collective bargaining agent. There is only ONE body of pilots. There is NO west or east as it pertains to USAPA. WE have been paying the SAME union for the past 5+ years.

NO WEST pilot (or any other entitiy / person) has the right or power to separately negotiate for the PHX based pilots as a separate entity.

Further, USAPA Constitution & Bylaws AND the UOM state that Date of Hire is the ONLY way do determine seniority.

You have been painted into a corner. Hurry up and see if you can get Dug to sign off on your DOH or DOH-Lite with a new contract.

Another LOSS for USAPA. Attrition at the LOWEST wages in the industry. You should be proud.

CB

Are you as a west pilot allowed to make suggestions on the contract? Say over how to bridge STD and LTD? Why is section 22 different? USAPA still has the responsibility for it.

Hmm, guess i should have said "Don't hyperventilate Cleardirect the last part is a joke" Instead of "don't hyperventilate Move the last part is a joke" You were not the dude standing up in the meeting nearly spewing spittle on Doug were you clear? i hope not, that guy really needs to relax before his heart pops.

No they were kicked out because USAPA only brought enough cookies for the newhires. And as far as I know the only ones talking about the newhires upgrading in 5 to 7 years is mgmt. in the crew news.

However given how hard it is going to be to find newhires in the next few years once everybody is hiring I would not put it past team tempe to be trying to keep the new guys from bailing......maybe they have jumbo sized cookies to give them!

That was a Chinese knock-off piece of ####. It should have read "I sent Marty 5 mill and all the eastholios got were broken promises!"

Language barrier thing but its been straightened out.
