OCT/NOV 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

By history you mean the "Piedmont principle" has been used in every pilot seniority arbitration since then.

Shuttle, America West, Delta Northwest, and Frontier Republic.
No. I mean the "Piedmont principle" where most of the Piedmont guys always looked out for themselves and pulled the ladder up behind theselves from the junior guys. Your Dad was one of those....I thought you'd be familiar with that principle. Lord knows, I flew with enough of them when I got hired at Piedmont.

I guess you learned from the "best". Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I see. Hey. did your Dad give you a good recommendation for the job? I wish I had a parent that worked for Piedmont, I would have gotten hired out of high school.

That's pretty weak, you can't refute what I said so you attack my father.

There are a lot of people who don't like me but everybody liked flying with my father.

You have to understand that east pilots are (in thier minds) "special" and rules and principles only apply to what is good for them right now.

The time for clinging to our own views of right and wrong is getting long in the tooth. The lawyers won't tell you its time to have discussions about a settlement, because they like their job. Your BPR reps won't tell you because they like their job, and they lead from behind relying on polls. The West is stagnant. The East is not. Shouting who is right and wrong, or righteous and wretched doesn't impact the Bids.

I don't know if I ever got the chance but I am sure I enjoyed flying with him if I did.

I don't know if I ever flew with your dad or not, first off, and secondly, it's usually (but not always) the people who had a parent here that gave them a leg up when interviewing for a job. I'm not faulting that in general but it seems that a few (not all) carried a greater sense of entitlement because they thought they were more special. Now that hasn't always been the case and in my opinion I think that most of them knew of this thought process and as a result in some cases didn't WANT anyone to know their parent worked here....they wanted to be judged on their OWN contributions and not on their parents.

But I'll repeat it again for the sake that the truth of it was that almost all the Piedmont seniors I flew with were good guys and knew how to fly a plane. But many also seemed to forget their upbringing and what we as newhires had to do to get hired as well....which really wasn't a much different path than they had.

I'm not attacking you, but if your father believed in the ratio argument and you supported it too, then it's no wonder were in the trouble with the HUGE differences we have today.

Again, stick your hand in that bucket of water and pull it out and see how fast the hole gets filled in. The "piedmont principle" was always of the belief that the hole they left behind would be difficult to fill and I talked to enough of the "old hats" to know.

Just saying.

........but if your father believed in the ratio argument......

In other words you have no idea what you're talking about.

When I got hired I was an F/O and F/E on four engine jets for 5 years and had a 737 type rating, I guess in your book I didn't deserve getting hired because my father worked here.

A settlement? HA! Despite the long proven fact that there is no West party to "settle" with,(thank you Bradford) nothing of any substance has changed since the 9th...make it ripe. Find a LUO, get the company on board with it, negotiate an industry standard contract and ratify it. As soon as USAPA completes all that, we can all stand back and admire the Monkeys flying out of everybodies collective ass. IOW, it's a self contained joke to ever think your fake union can accomplish anything but the maintenance of loa93 and delay.

Settle with the criminally incompetent? Why? Make it ripe and watch what happens.

The "fake" union. Are you referring to the one that has stopped the Nicolau dead in its' tracks? I thought so.

The "ratio" argumént is made by those that somehow believe they have more to offer than the others. I'm sure that racing to the front of the line by , say, quitting here and going to jet blue will give former us airways pilots that quit and went to work for them the "we were growing faster than you" argument so they can merge with us and jump years. That's a Por valuation system. There were many hired with less "experience" than you I'm sure. You are so myopic when it comes to the "ratio" method. I do not believe in it and I never will. It strips value from the profession. PERIOD.

You can read into it anything you want, but the ratio method devalues our profession. By NOT establishing a "measurable and objective" standard of seniority integration we will continue to have our differences.

You have no legitimate union objective, wannabe pilot with no life. Get a job and be somebody pathetic mooch.

There's the truth of it.

Enjoy the holiday.

The cost of holdings one's breath with their eyes and ears closed it becoming readily apparent. Sooner or latter folks will question if such a strategy is worth the cost.

The only think USTUPID stopped in its tracks is the career earnings and quality of life of all its members. The Nic is right where it's always been staring you in the face, waiting with limitless patience, watching you and your band of no integrity buffoons fumble endlessly like children in a grown up world.

Self hostage taking isn't an LUO idiot. You've already granted 1/3rd of your career to the bk era gods...what's another third? After all, you've got that killer pension.
