How does Parker make a bid for AA when his own airline is still divided, and the F/A group is about to strike? Sounds like a good candidate to run AA, NOT! Horton is laughing his A$$ off.

And thanks for continuing to fly on LOA93, those record profits are nice. Oh, and not reporting farcical airplane problems has helped the bottom line too, but..then again...you didn't really have any choice but to do your job correctly since the injunction.

I see some early entrees for the Joke of the Day competition. Very good then. I'm all ears and can always use a good laugh. Break down just how your group can ever make nic see the light of day, and what the fantasized events and time line would be for the latest fairy tales to ever come true?...That is, if you can tear yourself away from your Xbox and fine parenting-by-example long enough to type out anything more than the standard, simian grunts ....?

Although everyone implicitly understands that unless something new has happened, your picayune "Joke of the Day" competition is still only for the penultimate "runner up" position...

The supreme "Joke of the Day, Year, Century" or whatever, still goes something like this...

Not really. I don't think you should make fun of west F/Os that think they should be captain with the Nic.

If you are stupid enough to make fun of someone that is the same as you, go ahead and laugh.

No one except the "psychos" on the board is really laughing. It's more like gallows humor, or more precisely, a pointed "mocking". Additionally, we are NOT the same, (speaking groupwise, not individually), the minority has integrity while the majority is still victim of "self-hostage taking...".

I asked a simple question..."how many pilots does it take to fly West min block"?

The reason I asked is because it appears the West active pilot total has shrunk greater than the percentages in the TA that allows for a reduction in fleet.

Now add that somebody in management decided to disproportionately furlough West pilots while at the same time dropping West below min block in 2008 and shifting the flying east...and there you have it....collusion between the company and usapa. Maybe not an intentional under the radar meeting between Cleary and say Kirby about how to avaid the Nic, but a seperate working toward the same goal.

PiBrat did offer some reasonable explanations that I did not take into account. Going to one fleet type and eliminating the redundancy of training and management pilots and the LAS base closure eliminating dual reserve staffing at two bases.

It is a simple multiplication problem...but I do not know one of the factors. The first factor would be West min fleet (122). The second would be staffing requirement per airplane (???). The product would be the min number of West pilots required.


Pi also dismisses the entire issue by stating that the company was merely found guilty of violating West min block because they decided to calculate it differently. Well...that is another example of the collusion. They decide to furlough, so they decide to calculate West min block in a different manner than how they decide to calculate east mins, while moving flying east and disproportionately furloughing West.
