"Montra"????

You shouldn't try to use words you don't understand or can't spell. Seriously...it is not a tough word.
Montra is the short version of the Pahli word "Mahantra" meaning protection, its origin from the Kurdish word "Pala" meaning to take refuge under.

HEY RICHARD CRANIUM, EAT IT! Mr I know it all!

Sure thing Mongo.

(I don't know it all, just more than the less advanced trogs like you)

As but the maestro of cubicles and paper clips: You shouldn't waste your energy desperately and pathetically seeking even the slightest relevance on any thread for pilot issues, which you clearly "don't understand", nor possibly could. Seriously...it is not a tough concept. 😉

If you nowadays tutor english and feel the need to volunteer your knowledge...there are plenty of sites and real-world opportunities for you to help others out. https://www.google.c...ient=firefox-a

Consider it. Who knows?...You might then actually be doing something useful with your life for a change. 😉

Better than being some pissed off has been pilot who spends every freaking day on a computer board whining about his job.

Go kiss you wife, if she even remembers you.

"pissed off"? "whining"? Which is it for you today then? Completely illiterate or just entirely psychotic? ..Or is it an issue of pure envy for you, princess paperclip? 🙂 Heck!...I'll cheerfully take "has been" over never-was any day of the week.

I see my last portions of airline flight as being a continued opportunity for viewing the world from the higher altitudes and having the true privelege of working with some very fine people....NONE of whom I'm at ALL interested in throwing under the nic bus! I can't put any dollar value on that....period."

Have a nice night...and DO try to someday get a worthwhile life for yourself. 😉

Nic, you are missing out on some good movement. Even Dave O Dell is climbing fast in DCA. He is with us now.

MONGO? TROGS? RICHARD, you just keep opening your wannabee self up now don't you, because your talking about nothing. And it is the only thing you know anything about.” MM!

I suppose we should be gentle with him. Precious few people get to ever see what we've seen, yet see, and do/done what we have. That poor creature seems to be possessed by some perverse and truly desperate need to somehow "matter" here and "fit in"...if even just in some dark and sad little corner.

Having seen my (our) careers tank here in Sep 01, it is indeed nice to see something positive, something moving forward. I must admit, I am stunned at the movement on this bid. Guess when I go so long with not even a glimmer of hope, a bid like this gives me pause. This was a great place to work until airplanes flew into buildings. Then came the bad marriage (7 year itch?) we were shot gunned into (yet never consummated) back in 2005. Low point of my career, actually worse than 911.Other than Eric and the gang intimidating guys from not becoming members back in 2008 (keeping them from getting union paid medical) the greatest tragedy of late is guys not taking a job out east, and staying on street. Yikes, bad move by all involved. So sad. It's not a dream career by any means, but just knowing with almost 9 years left I could (if I cared to) fly widebody C/O it is a good feeling. And my neighbors already think I fly the Concord Paris to NY every week, so it is not about "hand."Thanks for the full accouting Phoenix.Greeter

Well said sir. I must say that I envy you the nearly nine full years yet to go, but I've no real complaints in that regard. It does finally look like better things are approaching. All who have endured the downsides here have certainly earned it! Enjoy! 🙂

All those unbid positions, you figure 120 new hires, MAR BID, wait till the next all told , 1 per day, After 179 or whatever this year, being small, plus floats yea those raises are well deserved, congrats to all, in quality of life or monetarily! MM!

Yeah, I was stunned too. I wonder how many people "over" bid or forgot to update their bid and now have something they didn't even expect... ie. oops, I am on A330 reserve...When I could have had....

Yeah, perhaps experience of the decades long retreat makes this movement appear more dramatic. Never the less their is no denying the positive news will have an impact. Its like rain after generations of drought!

Despite our feud, I remember a few years ago congratulating you on your (probably for the 2nd or 3rd time!) C/O upgrade. Now you continue to move up the list! It's about darn time, great to see even my political enemy's moving up. You are correct. We still have 5 330-200s coming, and even 2 or 3 more 190s by mid Feb13. Company says they are done with 190s at "20" but I don't believe them. Looking at the reductions in 737-400's over the next 18 months, there has to be at least 2-4 months of "training float/senior sick time" coming! Training float, there is a concept only understood by those of us that have been at a "growing" airline.Greeter

Yes, there is some "perception" here of good times. I remember in my AF POW training back the mid-seventies, they took us into a mock POW camp after a week foraging in the woods, and had us cook up a big pot of vegetable and fish stew. Right as we went to fill up our bowls, they dumped it on the ground. We all still ate "fish stew" off the ground!...one of the best meals I ever had. It’s all perception. I perceive a little happiness right now.Greeter
