Run scared little girl. That is what you sound like. Everything you are saying that the US f/as are afraid of is reaking from your veins. We are still the big boys and always will. The AWA f/as are a mere fraction of our size. You will be lost in the suffle if you continue to play hard ball. You have what, 2,400 f/as? We have over 9,000. Furloughed or not we have them. Don't rock the boat to hard, you WILL sink it.

What a class act.

I laugh when I read statements such as HP was on shakey ground. Hmm let's see, who posted a profit? When was the last time in eons that US posted a profit? Again, I will repeat, we at HP will not roll over and be strampled because you were treated badly by your management over the years. How come the investors have never stepped up to the plate to bail US out of bankruptcy? Without HP, US was a goner. The investors believe in Doug Parker and HP.

Sounds like too much time in the pressurized cabin.

Funny, Parker was saying earlier this year you would run out cash.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Just get use to DOH.

It doesn't matter who the surving entity is..........US Airways

Wow. It seemed to matter to you when you were arguing U was the surviving entity. But now that several people have posted evidence that YOU'RE WRONG, suddently it doesn't matter?

Section X
AFA Bylaws.....

"This policy shall be applicable when two or more AFA-CWA-represented carriers engage in any merger, consolidation, acquisition of control, purchase, sale, lease or other similar transactions or arrangement between or among them, involving their previously separate airline operations or services previously performed by them as separate airlines, in a manner that may affect the seniority rights of the flight attendants (all hereafter referred to as "merger" for purposes of this policy)."

Pronunciation: 'm&rj
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): merged; merg·ing
Etymology: Latin mergere; akin to Sanskrit majjati he dives
transitive senses
1 archaic : to plunge or engulf in something : IMMERSE
2 : to cause to combine, unite, or coalesce
3 : to blend gradually by stages that blur distinctions
intransitive senses
1 : to become combined into one
2 : to blend or come together without abrupt change

This my friends is the definition of "merge".

Do you think that slotting will??
[post="295040"][/post]

NO! Just imagine if someone/somewhere/somehow approved slotting. Then, we would be fighting about the proportion of AWA/USAir . This idea is ridiculous! Date of hire is FAIR! It is in the AFA Constitution and ByLaws, and it isnt going to change. Time to move on! B)

No, just trying to drive a point that some of the HP posters are on here STILL in denial thinking that they could survive alone and they CAN'T. I doesn't matter who is in BK now, but HP was in BK. It doesn't matter who is in immediate trouble now, because Hp WILL be in trouble soon going it alone. Wake up folks. WE NEED EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When/where/to whom did he say this. Where can we read that?

Bearing in mind, of course, that U is out of cash.

U is not out of cash, go read the financial disclosures, and when I get back later I will find where Parker made his statements.

And HP was low on cash they had to get a loan from GECAS to improve cash liquiduty. That information is online.

Cash means little when you have negative equity... it really means the cash you have is not yours... U is in equity deficit and it's balance sheet will drag AWA down. those are facts.

I'm new to the forum and absolutely flabbergasted at the attitude of some of the people that post on here. Perhaps it's because I'm used to a great workgroup of flight attendants at America West. I don't know anyone who is as mean spirited or selfish as some of the posters on this forum.

Can someone please explain to me what is the great threat of integrated seniority. How will it adversely affect anyone. I would think that if an HP employee is in the upper third of the seniority list at HP, they should be in the upper third of of the seniority list of the new US Airways. Just as seniority protection is important to US, it is equally important to HP. No one work group should be stapled to the bottom of the seniority list.

It seems that the only fair thing to do is to put a fence around ALL the bases which would protect that most junior flight attendant at that base. If there is an opening and someone transfers in, their bidding seniority should go to the bottom of the list for that base.

I haven't heard of a single HP FA who is chomping at the bit to transfer out of Phoenix. We don't want your jobs or your routes. We are content to live in this blasted desert year 'round.

HP_FA, I don't know who you are, but I like your attitude and your postings. You make a lot of sense. Hulagirl, however, must have hit her head during turbulence one too many times. Or, perhaps it's the Martinis talking. I'm only kidding. You have every right to disagree.

Meatball,

Well the name say it!! Anyway in response, Lets look at this - A 1983 flight attendant at HP goes to a 1957 seniority number just like that and when you transfer bases anywhere it is at your seniority number. would you want to go to the bottom if you get the itch to go to D.C. or charlotte or N.Y. or philly or Boston or PIT. No you will go in at your seniority. that is fair - I think the sun has gotten to you all, you are very fearful and are just now trying to start a stink what was the problem with this by-law last your or the year before or 10 years ago. Your list isn't going to be stapled you will be DOH. and there will be a fence anyway so you dont have to give uop your bidding anything like that but you are asking for both years of seniority tacked onto your seniority taking away for what we have worked so hard for. I really think you guys are delerious!!!

If the AW people want to slot......fine with me! This is how it will go!.......

1983 USAirways F/A's
Then under them the 1983 AW F/A's
The 1984 USAirways F/A's
Then the 1984 AW F/A's
and so forth and so on.........
See how slotting can just be really ugly? It's all a moot point really. If the bylaws are changed AFA will be out at USAirways and Teamsters in. The union with the larger population survives and then it gets really ugly for the AW F/A's.

Lets all be fair and agree to what the rules in the bylaws state. DOH PERIOD.
