How will be the surviving company? I asked this to the FAQ's on AWA compass and they answer is ( ref Aug 12th FAQs) neither. It is a new company or a merger between the two with the US airways name.

A: This is an important point to clarify for all employees. Contrary to some reports, the transaction between America West Airlines and US Airways is a merger, not an acquisition or a take-over. That confusion may be due to the name selection, but US Airways was selected simply because it is a more widely recognized brand on the East Coast and in Europe.

No, it has nothing to do with proving anybody wrong. I read the posted articles and I have also read the ones that USA320pilot refered to. The point is, depending on different media venues, you will get a variety of views. I just find it amazing that you expect US to sit there and listen to..."you would be history" "we saved your ass"..etc....but Lord forbid anybody points out the fact the America West will be a memory....you get the point. We will ALL be one in the end. Some people are going to have a harder time letting go than others. Don't even pretend to know what I am feeling about this issue, because I am all for it. I don't care if the name is US or AWA or what ever else it will be. Bottom line.....this is a joint effort between investors and NOT the employees. This BS is old. You didn't save me...I didn't save you.
Explain surviving entity to me. Yes, Doug will be the CEO and yes it will be based in Tempe. Is AWA running this alone??? Hardly..unfortunately you are getting the worst of our management in this MERGER.

700UW does not deal with the traveling public or even many of the inhouse customers. Most people other than those on this board do not even know that he exists at the airline. I wouldnt let what a couple of extreme posters on here have too much influence in what the outcome of the merger is going to be like.

Amerca West AFA has started a firestorm with the US Airways Flight Attendants. Look at the billboards that went up today in crew rooms! I have never seen a group more united and it's just amazing the AW AFA MEC is trying this crap.

It doesn't have to be this way and it shouldn't. When this first started everyone was so excited and optimistic. Earlier publication from AWA AFA website DEFENDED the reasoning behind DOH and now the true colors are shinning through. Folks, this is really going to get ugly and it's sad.
Just remember, AWA is playing hardball with this last inning call of foul with the bylaw changes. Don't get fooled thinking it will change, but it is setting the tone on how it's going to be for some time to come.

There are numerous reports of flight attendants leaving notes in the galleys for other crews and even the Transatlantic Duty Free carts having notes left in them with all the AWA AFA contact info. It's like someone knocking down a bee hive or something. The flight attendants at AFA will vote AFA right off the property if this passes and then AWA F/A will be reeling from that fallout.
Your right TwiceBaked......things are about to get ugly really fast. I hope people come to there senses fast before the damage is permanent.

I tried to point this out earlier in this thread....

Nobody with any sense believes there is a chance in heck the afa BOD will approve this 'relative seniority' petition.
There are many vocal FAs at HP who are totally freaked out about DOH.
They are screaming for the MEC pres's recall.
He has to at least appear to be doing something to 'fight' for them.
Its really a moot point, and I can't believe there are so many US FAs that believe it has a chance.
I see it as just part of the process.
Please relax, and, as I have been doing for the past month, humor us.
Think, "Bless their little hearts, the poor dears".
Please don't get your panties in a wad.
Everything will be OK.
