If you cover the tray table the passengers won't be able to see the advertisement.

😛

I thought US wanted change? Why complain about the name change of the magazines from atache' to US Airways and the envoy to business class? Seems so petty. We should all be grateful and thankful instead of being petty about the name change.
Those brands were attached to the OLD US Airways, We are all an LCC now.

Low Cost Carrier, Love it or Leave.

By the way, they don't put advertisement in first class. It's only exclusive for coach! 🙂

Glad you said it. If it weren't for HP and Doug Parker, it is highly unlikely that the financing to keep the old U out of Ch. 7 would have been forthcoming.

Bring us money. Save our fannies. But, don't you dare change a thing or tell us how to run an airline.

I found this little tidbit from AWA's AFA site in case any HP f/a's are unaware, pay close attn to the second and third paragraph of this post.

Merger Q and A, Part II
Written by Former MEC President Bill McGlashen

Q. US Airways is in bankruptcy. We are saving them and their jobs, so why can't we bump them to the bottom of the seniority list?

A. US Airways has filed for Chapter 11 protection twice since 2002 and is currently in bankruptcy court. Additionally, AWA management and industry financial analysts have warned that AWA would need an additional $100 million in refinancing by the end of 2005 to avoid cost cutting and a possible Chapter 11 filing.

AWA avoided a Chapter 11 filing and possible liquidation in late 2001 when it was awarded a federally backed loan by the Air Transportation Stabilization Board (ATSB). US Airways has an ATSB loan as well.

This is a merger, not a buy-out of US Airways by AWA because both sides bring financing to the agreement and both companies will have representatives on the new Board of Directors.

So your airline was NOT nearly as stable as you would like to believe. So lets turn a page and stop bickering over who had the better airline. The point it is one airline today, and we all work for USAIRWAYS.

if that is the case, LF and BA will increase their market share of Business Class customers out of PHL. Doesn't the *A have minimum standards for J class? I remember I flew Envoy a few years ago at its lowest point--with the whole *A transition and then they upgraded it because of *A requirements. It is so much better than it was at that point.

US You are correct the Star Alliance does have Standards and if U gets away from those standards we will be kicked out of the Star Alliance. That is why on the 757 we have two rows of 1st because the Alliance made us have first because EVERY Star Alliance Member MUST offer some sort of First Class. Maybe the new management in U is wanting to get away from the Star Alliance who knows.

ROTFLMAO My thoughts exactly!

I agree with PineyBob. Your ideas need to be considered. The customers perception is their reality. We need to keep the level of service to our customers at a high level or at least a perceived high level. The company needs to focus (as well as the FA's) to focus on the little things. It's not always what you have its how you present it and make it special. USWest FA's have been good at accomplishing this. We have very little to offer our F/C customers. All we have is our ability to take care of the customer and make them feel special. It's a challenge to make our food look good to the F/C customer.

Our customer could care less on how much we are paid, our working conditions, senority or personal isssues. When they are on board they expect outstanding service(sometimes unrealistic)from our FA's. FA's spend the most time with our customers and it is our task to make them happy so they make USAirways their carrier of choice.

Together all of us can make a difference. Take care of the little things and the big issues will fall into place.

MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!!!!!

I dont believe the ads on the tray tables extend to first class - it is merely a coach thing....

Sorry, I was a t/a flight attendant in PHL for three years and heated them up all the time. I see the PHL-CLT bashing still goes on in one form or another. Some things never change...

I don't know where you get this information, but it is totally FALSE. It keeps getting repeated, but that doesn't make it true.

For instance, Ted has no first class. None of the European Star carriers have first class for domestic or intra-Europe flights.

HEY

Take a deep breath here and RELAX. It's Day One and already everyone has their Knickers in a twist. Heck I think Light Years starched his/her undies by accident.

FF'ers need to remember that we could have a plan that is fare class driven and we don't.

Employees need to remember if not for HP the Airline would likely have failed.

Have I seen things that have raised my eyebrows? YES but on balance they are positive.

What's the point of buying linens & paying to get them cleaned just to cover up a tray table???

obviously you haven't seen some of the US tray tables!

US Airways is being positioned as a low fare airline. The terms “Envoyâ€￾ and “Attacheâ€￾ are not consistent with that image. We are not trying to be Lufthansa, British Airways, Swiss or Singapore Airlines. That's not our business objective. We are a low fare airline. If JC Penny tries to sell items that Saks sells, it's going to loose money. I command the HP team for having the guts to see the product as it is, and to try to sell it that way. Trust me you are better off having a money making "Business Class" then a money loosing "Envoy." When TWA took away "Ambassador" and "Royal Ambassador" service, the employees had the same reaction. But to be honest, I think we had a better product when we had a simpler, honest and less pretentious service. US Airways is not going after the image and brand conscious passenger. They are after the small and medium sized businesses that are looking for value in their travel needs
