I hope they don't do that again. We're a low-cost carrier, after all.

Then cede the transatlantic market, or rip out the seats and go all coach over the pond.

My firm has corporate discounts with both US and BA. At the end of the day, the ticket cost in paid-biz class is the same. The difference in accomodations (flat bed on BA) and service (the Champagne on BA is not Korbel so to speak) is huge.

We'll serve Champipple on flights. Remember Fred Sanford used to mix one part champagne with two parts Ripple and that made it Champipple. :lol:

If anyone has flown in First class or upper class or whatever the airlines "brand" their service as, our "Envoy" does not compare....the A-330 MAYBE. Our service as ok as it is cannot possibly TOUCH the service on Virgin, British Airways or Lufthansa. Just the seats alone blow us away. First class on Continental is even far superior to ours. That seating although comfy on the 767 is so damn old and outdated its beyond words. If you have a chance to look at some pics of other airlines cabins check them out. Its almost embarrasing. The inflight service we offer is fine but the cabin could use some updates. Even the A-330 can be updated a bit now. It's a VERY competetive market and passengers abound. Capture them with something "Business" but a little modernized.

Why don't they just come out and say if they really want to be an international carrier or not? All signs point to no. A350 order aside (yawn... US never takes the planes they order), it doesn't seem like they are interested.

Casual dress and cardboard boxes of snacks just doesn't cut it in this market. They really can't dumb down the service any more than they already have. Despite the cutbacks, Europe is one of the places that Airways has a great reputation, which they earned through thier great Envoy and Economy products along with the outstanding station personell in the European stations.

Please act like an airline!

Don't you think it is a bit early to be making assumtions. Has there been any indication of this change in any form of communication from the company? If not, they are nothing but rumors. I am tired of all the rumors on here. I have yet to see more than 1% of them acually be accurate or even on track.

What is wrong with casual dress, the customers dress in it and they don't know the difference between us and them.

We are acting like an airline, give us some credit.

You mean Carl Icahn isn't acquiring the NEW US Airways? :shock:

West catering stinks! It is quite embarassing what we have been reduced too. We had the best f/c service when I started... linens... apps... salads entree... the icecream cake. It's nothing now. Some of our f/c pax that are thru passengers offer to get us Taco Bell since they are so hungry.

At least we will be alike. US domestic f/c transcon is tacky. :down:

I always wondered though why they call the coach cabin "Economy" on transatlantic and "Main Cabin" on domestic.
[post="306727"][/post]

Convention, IATA definition, whatever state that on international flights the main cabin is referred to as "economy" whereas the same cabin in the US is "coach." An airline may brand their cabins, calling them "envoy" for example but the forward cabin without amenities such as sleeper seats is called generically "business."
