SOMEBODY WAKE UP PARKER AND TELL HIM

Please explain why you think this would help US Airways and be specific.
I guess you don't remember our little Christmas holiday bag problems a few years ago, that was Al's baby, Its getting much worse in Philly, and starting in Charlotte. I just got done a four day and have to many stories to tell, maybe tommorrow

They aren't going to get rid of him - AW brought him over to continue the work started at US, and to make sure the virus spreads to AW.

I'm not saying that's a good thing - in fact, just the opposite. But it is what it is. If anybody thinks Doug will see the light regarding AC, I'm telling you - he already has.

I'll bet you Al's got a lot of stories to tell us about philly.............

When Parker visted PHL last year the whole room was chanting "Crellins got to go" I guess your right it will spread , we can call PHX "West Philly"

Is it a coincidence performance has gotten worse the further we have gotten into merging?

This is the same thing that happened right after the US/PI merger. The numbers tanked. I think its because people are focusing on the long haul and not taking care of things NOW.
For starters, if we have so many flights on the "BAD" list, have we changed schedules? We have a PHL flight that ran 30 % last month and probably about the same if not worse this month. Its been brought to our managers attention who said he passed it on, but is anyone doing anything about it or is it just "because of the weather?"
Just a couple little things like this taken care of systemwide would help make a big dent in the numbers overall. (Late plane = late bags = complaints) See the pattern here? Question is... is anyone going to take the bull by the horns or are they just going to continue making excuses?
(Oh, and how long until its "snow related"? Havent we been down this road many times before?)

I read somewhere the other day the top 4 execs at US other than Parker all got hefty raises. I remember seeing "AL'S" name being listed for a big raise.

Seems to me Doug likes how AL runs the operation and how its being driven right into the ground in Philly.

Is this why he got a raise?

I'm sure we will see Doug in Philly over the holiday's away from his family because he allowed a mess like we have in Philly continue.

As I pointed out several months ago, Parker, Crellin and company have not actually "merged" anything difficult. Now that difficult tasks are upon LCC management, it's not looking so rosy on the operations side.

As far as Christmas '04 goes I have always wondered if he was thrown under the bus by Bruce Ashby and the rest of the bean counter types?

It appears to me that they need his expertise and relationship with the FAA to complete transition to a single certificate. Which certainly takes precedence over being all warm and fuzzy.

Also how do you know that the people in the middle aren't the real problem? Maybe the old ALG Mid Level Managers undermine him because of the PSA connection?

Who knows, but NO ONE is as bad as portrayed here.

Well, regardless, I don't think he minded one bit being under the bus. He got rewarded with stock and a VP position at the new U. They gave him a hefty $41,000 raise. He's up to $400,000 a year in just salary. And he cashed out stock for millions. All in about 18 months after that Xmas incident.

Yea, I'd blame the weather too...as often as I could for a poor performance.

The turnover in baggage claim is because of the poverty wages and lack of medical benefits due to hiring only part-timers who don't get benefits. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious. They tell the new hirees they need to be available holidays and weekends all shiifts.

Obviously, U doesn't give a damn about turnover or pax baggage arrival as evidenced by the continued existing problems in that particular customer service area.

I think Al deserves even more money...he's a genius for staying uder the radar and throwing blame every where else but his way.

I know he drives a nice little car to work every morning, but what executive doesn't! He seems very personable. I guess I wasn't on the ramp that long in Philly though to be as pissed off at him as everyone else was.

Its been brought to our managers attention who said he passed it on,

Geeee, how many times have we heard that line, "....that incident has been duly noted and passed on......"

It seems to me, with all the "culture" surveys the company is asking of us, they would have the common sense enuogh to do some operational surveys and use the info to improve upon things like everyday performance and customer satisfaction.

We can't even get enough ground epuipment in TPA. It has been brought to our Manager's attention and "passed on"

So, when we have 5 aircraft on the ground everyday at 430P, we only have 5 operational beltloaders on the property, sometimes 6, if one of the junkheap(so called spares) is actually operational. Meanwhile, the Pax off HP578 wait ever so patiently at baggage claim for their bags.

We run this operation everyday, we know what we need to get the job done, so why can't we get it? No more lame excuses about budgets, proper requisitions through proper channels, JUST GIVE US WHAT NEED TO DO OUR JOBS!!!!!!!!!

305m 2Q profit means its time to spend a little to get things closer to par!!!!!!!
