What's new

Spring/Summer '07 F/A Recalls?

Whats gonna be great is when they are all done with putting this contract together and we are on one certificate and the AIL is finally gone. I think I was told all of this will be done by June. I hope they bring everyone back by year end.
Yes, it will be June. Of 2009. Nowhere NEAR a merged contract at all. Not even close.

Would like to see everyone back, tho! 😀

I think you misunderstood me..whatever they are doing now in PHX with all the contract neg and stuff..it will be done June 07. And the certificates will be one certificate by May 1st. What are you referring to about 2009?

AFA is nowhere NEAR reaching a merged contract with the company. They have not even started negotiating the major issues, such as Compensation and Reserve. No way we will have a merged contract by May 07. They may have one operating cert. in May, but not merged contracts. Labor groups will still be separate.

xoxo- AFA holds the merged senority list in a secure place. They will not hand that over until the contact is merged. Last I hear they have not gone into scheduling, pay, reserve ect, ect, ect. Very little has been agreed upon and we are 2.5 months from it being done and ratified? Nope, it would be a miracle if it was done by this coming fall. If we were close you would be seeing roadshows and voting info coming out by now. Only procedure will change May 1st. No transfers or mix of flying until that contract comes through and is voted upon.
Be a while before we are all one.

So...how do you know where they are in the negotiations right now? Is there someway we can find out? Are you involved in it so that you know what is going on???

Lets put it this way. As long as it takes to get a good contract 😉 If it takes until 2009 so be it! We hold the cards this time. They either make improvements to our contract or they can run seprate operations. Up to the company.

I was told that reserve negos will start next go around. I believe this coming week or next. Five different proposals going to the company from AFA.

There are only 7 sections not closed or started. Others have either been closed or close to being by just some wording issues.

One can only dream it will be better than this sh@t.

We on the west apply and get food stamps and sectiion 8 housing... Its a sad fact. ! Alot of us thought we were going to get a pay raise but after our Section 6 talks were smashed by a merger. Now we much keep picking between a roof over our head or food in our tummys? But Doug still gets paid.

Yeah but be grateful that you don't make enough to purchase booz or other vices. Why would you want to be tempted? 😀

MEC updates are regularly sent out, you can sign up on the website.

In all honesty, I have no idea, since I am not directly involved. I do know that the pace of negotiations is very slow, and I would doubt that we would have an agreement completed in 2007. Just my guess, tho.

Last crew news session in CLT Scott said there is no FA recalls in 2007, just pilots.

Would this also include recalling the F/A's that took a VFLR?
I can't wait till 2009 for a new contract... If so I want back pay for the years that they have raped me and whored us out on the WEST.... If it does not have back pay for the WEST... ITS a big NO on my part... Also Since I might/might not go back on RESERVE... I hope to God it has better language/and Pay and I can't loose my Health Bennies..... You guys on the east have a sucky plan for health coverage compaired to us out west.

from the OCT 12, 05 AFA eline:

A complete analysis of our seniority list was not done by the America West AFA leadership. Our current population shows 8665 positions on the seniority list. Within that population there are 4470 Active (AVL) members. Our list still includes 1159 Extended Indefinite Leave (EXL) flight attendants and 1692 Involuntary Furloughed (FUR) flight attendants. EXL flight attendants can only be recalled after the FUR flight attendants are recalled. The list also includes 737 flight attendants who elected to take a Voluntary Furlough with Limited Recall (VFLR) in 2005. The VFLR program provides for a cash payment and travel privileges in exchange for the furlough. Anyone participating in this offer would only be recalled after all the FUR and EXL flight attendants were recalled. A VFLR participant would return with new hire status for both competitive bidding and longevity. US Airways will offer another VFLR program in 2006 for at least 323 positions. In addition, we have over 300 flight attendants slated to retire between now and the end of 2005. As a result of the downsizing and life altering concessions we have made in the last three years our membership is shrinking with a significant portion of the attrition coming off the top of the seniority list. AWA AFA makes the claim there are over 2100 people senior to their most senior member. In fact the number is currently 1365 and will certainly be much lower by the projected integration date of mid 2007.
