The writing is on the wall. They keep pulling mainline flights out of LGA. They lost 3 lines in the next pilot bid. Secondary f/a lines went from 18 lines in Sep to 6 lines in October. Looks like LGA is toast.

sky high states: GEEZZZZ, why spread RUMORS? They pull a couple of lines and you're screaming, BASE CLOSURE?

STOP IT.

It is not secret that DP says there are too many bases. LGA is the smallest and keeps shrinking.. does not take a rocket scientist to put the pieces together. Well good if it does close, more time for us in PHL.

I don't think LGA will be the last to shrink.

Actaully, IIRC DP later made a statement saying something to the extent that 7 bases was about right for a company this size. However, it seems that they always have problems with keeping LGA staffed so maybe it will go. On top of that we only have mainline flights to other crew bases (CLT, PIT, DCA, BOS).

Wrong, there are still flights to some other noncrew bases (FLL, NAS) but they are both going away shortly as well.

Think somewhere,somehow.....LGA based pilots would chime in here.......Some have unlimited access.

He did say that at a Crew News Session.

I am not sure LGA will close--with the new FAA regs regarding aircraft size, I think mainline will grow at LGA again--especially with the 190.

I am also hearing rumblings that there may be a couple of contract carriers cut loose soon--perhaps just wishful thinking though.

My best to you all...

DP also later said that he realizes the importance of ALL of our bases and does not plan on closing any ANYTIME SOON.

sky high states: When the Trump shuttle merged with US. There was only about 10 lines there. Now? Over 30.

Minus 3 lines for Nov. DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE A TOPIC on this board.....

only stating my opinions.

Well they've definitely cut back the pilot block hours for LGA in the last couple months; don't know about other bases. Where there used to be 12-15 secondary lines built, lately there have only been 5 or 6, with corresponding more reserves. On the latest pilot bid for Nov-Dec, 11 Capt positions and 10 FO positions were eliminated. Reserves are now flying much less than in previous months. Haven't heard whether this will change in the future, but evidently the position cuts mean the small amount of secondary lines being built will be the norm.

Well thank god. I feel bad for the small percentage of those who want to stay in LGA and all of the Trump people but I do not think that it serves a very big purpose anyhow. Couldn't they do the Shuttle flying with DCA and BOS (or just DCA) crews anyway? After all it's one less place for people to get displaced too.
