What's new

The word is spreading....

Funny how I work at PHX and never heard a word about any protest. Were you the one that put the misspelled flyer on the wall in the A-side breakroom telling teamleads not to sign up for Sabre training? Hate to tell you union people but you look ridiculous when you pull crap like this. Hate to tell ya, but the majority of the people on the ramp could care less (especially PM), I've been there and done that.
Why are you doing saber training? I thought SHARES was a great system

They're getting rid of MAPPER and moving to the DECS portion of Sabre. When that happens, all of the team leads will be planning flights at their own gate.

Kinda important to get trained on it if I want to do my job correctly...

Why are they geting rid of MAPPER SHARES and moving to saber DECS.I though SHARES was great and saved tons of money. Why not move the hold airlines to SHARES for the same reasons why they move res to SHARES

Yes please.

Okay. Go to the ticketing level once you get to PHX. Walk out between the US Airways ticket counters to the north curb (facing US planes not WN), walk outside take a left all the way to the Valley Metro stop. Get on the eastbound Red Line bus. Pay the driver $1.25 in exact change. Tell the driver you are from out of town, you want a transfer pass, and have him/her yell out when you get to Mill Avenue in Tempe (there are automatic announcements and a scrolling marquee but sometimes they are kaput). Get out at Mill Avenue and take the northbound Route 66 bus at the stop in front of Chili's on the southeast corner of Mill and University. Show the driver your yellow transfer pass and tell him/her you are going to US Airways headquarters on Rio Salado. Get out at Rio Salado/Tempe Town Lake. You'll see it. There is also a large flour mill at this corner.

Or easier yet:

Take the Red Line bus to Mill Avenue and walk several blocks up to Tempe Town Lake/Rio Salado, US HQ. There are shops, restaurants and bars. That part of town was where cowboys, ranchers and farmers used to buy feed and tack (saddles, etc) and there were saloons and such.

Is a protest really going to accomplish anything? Putting up wiht disgruntled employees is just something CEO's learn to do. Now if you do something that may effect the bottom line then they may listen.

I'm really sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about, so I'd suggest stopping now.

There's no such thing as MAPPER SHARES.

Think of it this way...
Critical MAPPER is a program used by America West for load planning, delay coding, cargo load message sending, etc. etc....most everything below the wing.

SHARES/QIK is a program that handles reservations, gate check-in, etc.... mostly everything above the wing.

With the exception of sending an international CLM to Mexico and checking FLIFO on flights, QIK isn't used much by the below the wing crews. It doesn't have the functions built into it yet for below the wing stuff. Will it ever? Who knows. For right now, they're switching to Sabre for load planning sometime around May 1st.

What job is it you want people to think you do?

Haha well, I'm not a team lead. Tell ya that much. Not anymore anyway...Still have to take the training though.

just to update PHX flyer, in LAS a grievance was filed on section 1C1 and wants to be expidited per section 1D of the TWU contract on what this training endures. No you will not be planning your own FLT someone from the EAST will be planning your FLT. In LAS and all Field Stations each TL/ loadmaster plans their own FLT. BY assinging an EAST employee to do the west work is a direct violation of our contract and must be expideted to arbitration within 30 days. hopefully the IAM will fight for WEST.

Is sitting around watching the clouds go by going to accomplish anything? Disgruntled employees and airline senior management go hand in hand, but there are plenty of ways to get the point across when it comes to being heard...remember that ACTIONS speak louder than words. Be creative. If this company wants a mediocre to poor airline, then lower the bar... perform at a mediocre or poor level. There is no "Above and Beyond" anymore. When the paychecks start to go Above and Beyond the poverty threshold, then perhaps the way folks do their jobs will improve, too! Wow, what a concept... now only if it would become a reality.
