Only a moron would think that they are owed something from their employer. You're right that if you agree to the wage, there should be 'no problem!' I saw new hires making a fraction of old timers wage, and if they agreed, shut up or there is the door. I personally don't expect thanks for doing my job. I couldn't care less if my boss gives a crap about my existance, as long as I get a check.Bagchucker,
I don't disagree with anything you said and he was probably dumb to say it but it was refreshingly honest. You mention Kelly notice how he keeps harping on cost now with every utterance. They have lost their advantage and as their workforce grows older without any new growth to keep feeding the pipeline with younger/cheaper people they too will start looking for ways to replace older workers with younger ones. I also do not doubt that they will do it in a "kinder gentler" manor. But none of that is the point. The point is the company pays what it is willing to pay and we all work for what we are willing to work. To complain is not only pointless but in the end counter productive as we end up with a large % of bitter angry people who should understand economic and their role in it and be looking for more value elsewhere. It is the old N.E. Union Mentality that you are owed something for being that I disagree with.
OK going back to Turnover Rates-In reality corporate America wants an average 5 year turnover of employees. From what I remember, it has to do with an employee knowing the company well enough to rip it off.How many flies have dropped since this thread turned?
They were NOT part of the original COTUS. They were and are Amendments to the Original COTUS. Like the Golfster said there were 1,500 plus days were the Bill of Rights did not exist.

Thanx! I really didn't want to say it because a retaliation factor. Not just the Rip-Off factor. There are many reasons that all growing companies not only want but need some turnover.
One reason is complacency. After 5 years in the same job you had best know it inside and out. If you do then you know what corners can be cut. You become fat, dumb and happy in the job and frankly the company can now do better for less money if you go.
Also if you're not one of the fair haired boys being groomed for movement up the ladder, do yourself and the company a favor and move on. Companies today don't want career employees as they are to damned expensive relative to a new hire. This is why it's very hard to get a good job after 50 years of age.
Experience isn't valued as highly as it once was. When someone tells me "I've got 25 years experience" I think, "OK is that really one year of actual experience and 24 years of repetition, or is it 25 years of industry experience doing various jobs within that industry."

Very well said! I was the most junior f/o on the list from 1973 to 1978 so I ended up flying with most of the captains that no other f/o would bid with (or they would call in sick). When flying with one of the worst of these guys I overheard one of the f/a's tell another that this particular captain must be immune to the visine because he was up to 12 drops and complementing her on the coffee!
Merry Christmas!
Pilots put their pants on the same as everyone else - one leg at a time - and I've yet to see one with a cape under his/her uniform...![]()
