I've noticed the pages on this thread keep getting shorter each week, only 14 pages last week. Has the bickering gone to another webboard or is everyone just growing weary on the subject?

Simply...........both

So what happen to usapa having a contract in months?

At least they are not going the route of rushing to a deal any deal, that ALPA is so famous for. The only thing worse than a lousy contract is replacing it with another lousy one.

Hey its almost ready for a vote, they only have a dozen or so open sections so it should be out soon. lol. USAPA just like ALPA...only worse.

I just read a letter from Ed Bular (on Catcrew) that starting in September we will all start using the "cactus" callsign.

Does it matter? Who cares what the callsign is, or the color of the aircraft, or the style of uniform. None of those things are important to trade unionism and because pilots don't get it, it is why unionist like the longshoremen working on the docks make more than pilots. The pilot profession ceased to be a trade union a long time ago and is shouldn't be any wonder why the job is in the toilet.

I don't care either just so long as the checks keep rolling in. That's probably going to change soon too!

Only if the checks are the same for every pilot. I'll say anything they want as long as we are treated as equals

Just curious, how does the DL-NW joint contract approved today compare with the existing US or HP contracts? I have to admit I'm amazed the DL and NW pilots have a contract approved *before* the merger is completed, great job on their part.

From what few details have been released, it sounds better - DL pilots already make more per hour on most equivalent aircraft types than US/HP and they're getting annual raises from there. NW pilots generally make less, but they also get the annual raises also. I'd assume that the NW pilots would be brought up to the DL rates immediately, but that isn't specified yet that I've seen.

The defined contribution pension will be the same % of pay as US/HP, although depending on the monthly hours allowed the $$ amount may be less. It sounds like they'll get stock vs stock options that the East got for the BK concessions. Of course, there's lots of other details in a contract, and the devil's always in the details.

I think if you changed the phrase from "on most equivalent aircraft types" to "all equivalent aircraft types" you would be accurate. The equity stake I have heard was 29k for the most junior pilot to 40k for the most senior. Plus roughly 21% raise over the life of the contract. Factor in the fact that DAL pilots just received between $180k to $400+-k for their pensions and NWA pilots kept theirs and they collectively leave US/HP in the dust.

But according to the latest USAPA negotiating update we should be able to garner an extra 10 cents per hour on our per diem rate! Here comes a quality contract...lol

Well, who do you blame for that? The union?

Do you seriously attempt to compare DAL/NWA systems and revenues to US/HP's?

Are you nuts?

Heck, the two leisure markets out west alone take LCC out of the running.

At least there's still some widebody flying and business flying in the East....otherwise you guys would be flying cancelled checks late at night.
