We are getting a 3% raise, after all!

Oh joy of joys, 3%. I lost alot more than that with this new contract. Let me give all the boys in the IAM that "negotiated" this contract a nice wet sloppy kiss. They couldn't negotiate decent contract if their life depended on it.

Need we not forget the increase of the union dues for 2009...so much for the 3% wage hike :down: :down:

Amen to that. Get your house in order for the next one. Or just sit back ,pay dues , and expect someone one else to do it for you. The POS is was it is ,till you change it. :huh:

IS there any union help coming from the east to us out west? Our commiteemen act as though they have never worked in a union before. We've rebid for the third time. We get more support from the company, only to squeeze us some more. How exactly do we get them to protect us? It feels more like a sweatshop everyday. The only thing we have going for us is the weather. 🙁

File a grievance if the company isn't following the contract. There are guide lines in the POS contract that they have to follow. You want action you have to dump in your own nest. Your AGC is out there. Go to the meetings and find out what's up. Your shop steward should have had traing on how to file a grievance properly. It starts with you and him.

If i had a dime for every grievance that has been taken to our committeemen since OEI, I would no longer need to work here. They are turned down quickly as ,"without merit". Many of us see the value of the language in the new contract. Our commiteemen are loyal Teamster guys and were grandfathered in. The "normal" process does not seem to be working. Can we get some help from you guys so we, unlike other groups can get on the same page?
