What's new

Oldie: the west has less than 20 new hires. The east has over 100. Our CP office states possible numbers of 20 in Sept, 30 in Oct. Do the math. In October "save Dave" will be gone and unless the east furloughs 100 in September a 2004 hire will be gone before a 2007 hire. Do you need graphics?
What's that got to do with anything? EVERY ONE of them is getting furloughed. East AND West. And then some. The company is cutting a larger proportion of flying from the West because it is UNPROFITABLE. Not much the East guys can do about that. Now, you guys think that 1988 hires that have never been furloughed should get furloughed before West 2004 hires. Sorry, that doesn't work for me, or the MAJORITY of pilots on this property. Get over it.

I feel sympathy for all that are getting furloughed, but service to the company should count for
something.

Maybe more West guys won't pay up and you'll save a few of the furloughs. That is, unless the furloughees decide not to pay either.

Now I see what you mean. You're talking maybe a month or two earlier. I was talking about THIS ROUND OF FURLOUGHS. Furlough pay is based on LOS, so the guys here longer will have MORE time to find something before the paycheck ends (at least it works that way on the East side). Oh, well. We don't have combined ops, so this is how the company was forced to downsize. Blame your ALPA guys for not straightening this thing out a long time ago. They refused to even discuss an integration, even though they knew that the Nic wouldn't fly. Now you guys have to deal with it.

You mean the old USAirways that disappeared in September, 2005? No wonder you're so confused about the difference between seniority and longevity.

break

Just a question to all you Easties who feel so entitled to DOH/LOS:

Would you be willing to vote for concessions to get the seniority list you want? And does USAPA know about your preference?

Let's see, my paycheck says...US Airways! Looks like you're WRONG AGAIN!

Won't have to. You West MEC HAD THE CHANCE to negotiate something and flat out refused. Comes under the heading of "Be careful what you wish for".

The NC is saying that while they understand that conditions may preclude them getting everything they want, they are working on a shorter duration contract, so that they can possibly negotiate more when (if) conditions improve.

Eastus, this is getting tedious. The post merger new hires are below everyone, east and west.

YOU are the one who doesn't "get it" = You wanted "relative seniority"?..Well..in the case of the recent furlough announcements...you GOT it pal. "Their relative seniority IS below every east and west pilot." = BS...Shall I quote some of you westie "geniuses" about what constitutes "relatively" senior? Let's start with the idea the "the most junior remains the most junior"....both east and west...or..are you now, suddenly and magically, concerned with anyone's DOH?..How does that play into your precious Nic fantasies?...I'm ALL ears herein.

tazz: " Clearly stated in the TA. For all your pontification and pretension you truly don't appear to be all that bright"

I'm crushed 🙄 You have my open wager as to mutual IQ testing at the acceptable facility of your choice. Stakes to be $5,000 to the highest. PM me at your earliest convenience. As per the "typical" westie poster = You're replete with "attitude"..narcissism....and unmitigated arrogance...how about some actual backup? 😉

Why don't you people just honestly admit that you're utterly full of nothing more than self-serving, complete and total BS? 😉

Just a question to all you Easties who feel so entitled to DOH/LOS:

Spare me any more of your smarmy crap. I'm of the opinion that EVERYONE, both east and west, is fully entitled to their DOH...Too bad for you personally, that you have so little to offer up therein.

A fool is someone who isn't smart enough to know they might be wrong.

Whew!..I'm fully overcome with the inherent profundidity trader  In truth? I could always be "wrong"..hence the proper and gentlemanly notion for a fair and sporting wager...which you sir, most certainly..are very welcome to partake of. I will, however..naturally leave YOU to most properly define the term "fool" sir. 😉

Don't see that it "disappeared", at all. Perhaps you should review most of the SEC filings, from just before May 2005 to the end of the year and find out for yourself what happened. There is very little open to interpretation, but, you will find that, good or bad, US did not disappear. Unlike your former union reps who either seemed to misrepresent the transaction and/or could not communicate with the west pilots, I ask you to do your own research.

exB717Flyer,

This most certainly ain't America West.

It is, very sadly, the same old usair.

I've worked for both; I know the difference.

Correct. US Airways with REGIONAL management. It had issues before, now.....

Oh please! USAir (East) has ALWAYS been regional. For heaven's sake, your most eastern (PHL) and most western (PIT) hubs are in the same state for cryin' out loud!

Delusions of grandeur.

And the old U was such a "Global" giant. US Air was the Alaska of the east - except Alaska is profitable.

We did have a somewhat inflated opinion of ourselves didn't we. - after all PIT was at one time our major hub- kind of provincial isn't it.

Having a "monopoly" on the east didn't seem to save us from TWO BKs under several different managements.

Go figure. Maybe we can do it again.

Delusions of grandeur.

"Delusions of grandeur."??? On THAT issue "jetz"..I willingly defer to your superior, and intimately personal knowledge thereof 🙄 NONE..in all of aviation history..neither during war nor peacetime...have EVER achieved such ultimate "heights" as to be anything so grand as merely a mouthy UAL FO....ever in recorded history...of course..for ahem "some"?..It may be more appropriate to think in simpler terms...as in "Delusions of adequacy""...😉
