I do appreciate your keeping this one fresh. One can always use a good laugh. Why a good laugh you ask? = The following elements:

1) "(It should be noted that not one of the 1800 former ALPA represented pilots of America West have elected to join this new union.)" That should help to make for a "sure fire" DFR action....no doubt at all...and all out there are utterly brilliant for leaving such a defined trail. Let us all know come the Fall how that's working out for everyone.

East, hes good for a laugh. According to the only guy I still communicate with out west, this guy isn't even an active pilot. Also, if no one has joined USAPA, why did we vote in 29 of them for membership at the last BPer meeting? We even voted in a Leo top dog. Actually, they didn't elect us, we elected them, unanimously.

2) "Many of those segments routinely carry me and my passengers over the longest over water route..."Translation = This twerp flies to HI...where the major concerns are limited to winds aloft and fuel approaching ETP..and...umm..weather at destination?...I think not. It's been..well..a really long time since I last heard of snowstorms or freezing drizzle, fog, etc in Honolulu for just one..but heck..what do I know?..I'm just a vile old eastie...and this guy sounds like an true oceanic "expert" by comparison. Turn him loose on the Atlantic immediately.

Cut that out, East. You never know when your going to get one of those tropical sea breezes rolling in, global warming and all. And then there's that volcano. All treacherous, dude.

3) "As a one time Executive Vice President of The Air Line Pilots Association"...Well..he has my sympathies for both his misplaced priorities and devalued ego....being no longer of any import to Alpa in the slightest. I'd suggest that he put his previous Alpa knee pads up on ebay..and just get over himself.

Your being awfully rough on the poor guy. At least he resigned before ALPO got the axe. Too much pressure with all those 12 to 1 votes. It must have been awfully lonely, being the lone dissenter and all.

You've gotta' admit..there's much room for mirth here 😉

PS: Should any out west be unfamiliar with any of the listed names...?...Not too worry, as they weren't taught in Mesa Basic...and there won't be any test.

RWCockroach (excuse me, CAPTAIN-Cockroach, no personal attacks from me) came out of Eagle 10 years ago, not Mesa. S

"Cut that out, East. You never know when your going to get one of those tropical sea breezes rolling in, global warming and all. And then there's that volcano. All treacherous, dude." Arrrgh!...confessedly?..I didn't factor in the volcanic issues! 😉 So much for my fuel planning abilites....😉

I won't slam Cockroach, as he's previously asserted a great many hours of combat flying, and does show a Mohawk as an avatar. I don't know the man, and thusly; I'll take him at his Word...Ummm..waitta' minute..Mohawk/he's previously asserted 2,000+ combat hours..that'd be VNam/ended 1974/etc if at all..OK = I'll question just a little. Not utterly impossible..if he signed up ARMY at 18-20, and is one of the oldest guys at AWA. Seriously?..I've no need to offer any disrespect without just cause in any case..there's an abundance of egocentric, narcicisstic, clueless, and utterly unaccomplished little "MEEE" hamsters out there to properly "abuse" in any case. The "Waaah!!!...I want my Nic!...It's ALL about MEEE!" crowd is something I've honestly never seen since raising teenagers...and, at least said teenagers grew up into actual, and fully Honorable Men= One SEAL, one MARINE..and/or one a MARINE, one a SEAL..two decently disposed businessmen (I ain't puttin' up with that sibling rivalry sh-t = bogus "top billing" for any..and I'm immensely proud of all in any case) ..I just know that "my life' may be at issue with the MARINE vs SEAL/SEAL vs MARINE bit 😉. The two Businsessmen give me enough "grief" as it is..and they're the "civilized" ones 😉

These pathetic little whiney-westie gerbils/"Aviators", ala "and we hate you guys"/" I want my Mommy!"..well...I wouldn't waste a decent shoe shine kicking over a bridge railing. More's the pity that there's some/ANY need to have even the slightest, passing thing to do with association with such puerile, pathetic, undisciplined, self-obsessed, utter scum = them. I'd speak my heart..but I like to "sugarcoat" just a wee bit...I wonder if "We hate you guys' broke into sobbing tears off camera? Whatta' bunch of pathetic little, "Mommy's Pwescious Widdle Boys" punks. To the west? = Grow up...don't confuse idiotic shirts, occasional baseball caps, crossed arms, utter ignorance, and wholsesale arrogance with being "Tough"...my own "kids" think that you're utter "Jokes" out there, just from the videos alone..as do I..KINDLY....let's think about growing up...??? Speaking of wholesale arrogance..My wagers' always open to any/all of you mighty "warriors"...that think you can even fly more than a 30 degree bank....🙂 How ANY of you, "I want my Mommy!!..I want my NIC!!"/etc, little gerbils out there ever impress women sufficiently to ever marry/breed/etc is a full mystery to me..since you'll certainly NEVER impress any Men...and you'd think the actual Women would know better...no matter=it's an insane world.

Mikey60: "One thing everyone back east must keep in mind, this group out here in PHX is the biggest bunch of cry babies I have ever come in contact with." NO JOKE.........

Is it just impossible for US Airways pilots--regardless of whether you are East or West--to stick to the issues? As usual you are tiptoeing along the line of personal attacks. Crossing the line earns a vacation from the boards. And, keep in mind, that you do not get to judge when the line is crossed. The moderators, however, do.

What's with the USAPA training committee resigning? Fallout from the USAToday ad?

Good question. Might be the case.

In the interest of hanging on to institutional memory, USAPA opted to allow some of the committees to be staffed by some of the same pilots who did the work for ALPA. (This was not allowed for representative, though.)

I imagine a lot of those former-ALPA committee folks are discovering, as the company is, that USAPA is NOT ALPA. Many of those committee members were probably very comfortable with the mealy-mouthed, hat-in-hand approach that ALPA took toward the company and the FAA. The USAPA policy of acting like a union (what a concept, huh?) might make some of those retreads squirm. If that's the case, it's time for them to hit the door and get back in the cockpit.

Maybe you should turn us all loose for a day or two, hopefully we'll get it out of our systems.

I'll tell you, yachtsman, reality is crashing down out there all at once. If they'd taken the Wye River deal, it might have passed and ALPO might still be here. AWAPPA is a ship lost at sea, grasping at anything to keep its membership riled up with hope of a hail mary. I wonder what the post-Mcalvena AWAPPA will be like, without their pied-piper, leading all the little children out of town and the lemmings off the cliff. Maybe some brains will finally surface out there. S
Well, I heard that many times...the deal at the river was where they lost it altogether. I'm told that was the turning point in the whole deal. Bet they wish they had that one back for a re-do...

Oh well...

It's a futile attempt to build a paper trail.

Just sending an application doesn't guarantee membership. The BPR has to approve every application. I doubt they will approve any application sent in with the AWAPPA disclaimer.

Non-membership has not a thing to do with agency shop or the obligation to pay germane fees.

AWAPPA's pissing in the wind if they think this will be effective. The USAPA C&BLs are binding in their entirety on all members. The NMB certified them on April 18.

I’m no pilot (or lawyer , they should be one in the same at this company ) … but I’d say the west pilots have a pretty good “paper†trail to stand on … in both their written application , and the “electronic†variety in the form of months of infighting and insults listed on this website … it’s clear as day that the east pilots gave ALPA the boot to overturn the NIC award , and the paper trail on that is miles long … I wouldn’t be surprised if a studious west pilot had copied all of your “pilot†treads and will be brining them against you as evidence …

Sure this is an anonymous website , but the postings speak clearly enough .

OK..einstein.

Newsflash: it doesn't matter "why" ALPA was tossed, they were tossed, legally...as certified by the NMB..

Consequently, the Nic is going to be an artifact in history books. Thats just the reality of the situation. The point is, the west merger/AWAPPA lawyer has already expressed to the court what the east has been saying all along....What is newsworthy here is that apparently, he didn't share this with his client, or, they didn't listen.

Either way, parker has clearly indicated that the company isn't taking sides, they are compelled to act under the law....and thats bad news for AWAPPA.

I hate to break it to ya … I really do , but I think it’s only been stated a hundred billion , billion times , “ you can’t overturn binding arbitration “

You MIGHT have had a chance to negotiate with the west pilots for better terms at some point , but you went and got the biggest shot gun you could find and blew that foot off … I see west pilots carrying around flight luggage that has the picture of some desperado with two guns on it talking about last stand and fighting to the “death “ … geez I wonder if peace in the middle east is now more probable than an agreement between your two sides …

I admire the way you overturned ALPA in purist of your goal , your single minded determination and solidarity were amazing to behold , true union power at it’s best …. But you overreached …. You should have fought for compromise , instead you went for it all … and in the end that will most likely cost you .

Thanks, pal...

I have a suggestion for you, that I encourage you to take:

Stop posting about things you know nothing about. The more you post about this topic, the worse you look.

Do us all a favor before you respond to this, read the west attorney's statement to the court earlier quoted...and read it slowly and carefully.
Then, read what U-turn, (who supports the west cause) comments about it...and he is correct.

Then come back here and preach to me about a pilot issue when you belong in an "under the wing" forum....no offense.

Then, read what U-turn, (who supports the west cause) comments about it...and he is correct.

I've flown with Mr. Uturn DB many times in the past. Some of the wacko conclusions that guy came to would make anyones eyes roll. I'm not so sure he is a west supporter either.

I guess we'll see, no?

Ignore his comments, then.

Concentrate HEAVILY on Freund's statement to the court...

he is "your" lawyer, right?

whatever... brother.

Look, I usually wind up in the weeds when I get going so we'll see how long this lasts.

What isn't going to happen is the Nic award. PERIOD.

Re-read Freund's comments...

the missing link? a contract.

Who has your "piper" left in charge of that?

the East.

Why?...unwilling to compromise....AT ALL.

(seems the 330 is a binky somebody out west just MUST suckle on...)

ALPA?
GONE.
NIC?
GONE.

Any questions?

Lawyers will never tell you anything is absolute. At any rate, not much will be different between what we could have had at Wye River versus what may come in the future, if you accomplish your objective. What kind of idiot just capitulates?

Whatever happens, happens. I darn sure don't regret anything in the past.
