US Pilots Labor Discussion

I respect your opinions and post Phoenix, but I have to disagree with you somewhat. There was plenty of blame to go around and no doubt ALPA shares some, but a big part of the ALPA that deserves it was our own people. Wasn't one of the guys that made the last change to the merger committee an AAA guy. Many of the missteps in the merger process came from our own, not ALPA national. I don't miss them or their trough feeders, but we had our own at the trough.

When I talk about the fire I mean the east using it's majority status to leave ALPA and form USAPA. Right or wrong, that action led to fire and if it had been the other way around and the west did it, we would be mad too.

I wish both sides could handle things different, but I have little hope of that.

The formation of USAPA wasn't any beginning of a fire. Even ALPA sycophants/MEC members have confessed to me that ALPA was smoldering years before Nic birthed Frankenstein. When that happened they knew ALPA had run its course.

The East only did what they legally were allowed to do and chose to do. I wouldn't and don't begrudge the West one bit for all their legal efforts.

There are still folks in the South who tell their children about the War of Northern Aggression. Pilot stories of Tecumseh Cleary Sherman will last a long time but they won't last as many generations.

And your point? ;-) I just hope we don't have to live with carpet baggers.

I agree that we had the legal option to form USAPA. I'm glad you see the west has the right to fight for what they see as their rights. May the best side win.

Really?!! Do you really believe that?
What's not to be believed? If some charismatic leader rose up and convinced the east pilots that accepting the NIC is the only valid option, that their fears are not substantiated by fact and that Management was ready to put the JCBA into high gear once the SLI issues were resolved, then support for the NIC by the east would end all controversy over that section of the contract. Who besides the east and USAPA would object to seeing the NIC used for section 22? Perhaps I don't fully understand your point.

Ummmm, you guys ARE the carpetbaggers.

And, btw, we have already won. You guys just haven't figured it out.

This fight is managements best dream come true. We could end it tomorrow and they would drag a contract out for years more. We are looking at an 11 million dollar profit this year according to Kirby. I'm sure they are ready to step up to something better than the Kirby Proposal.

Holy crap that's a ton of BS!!

Outsourced? The east disengaged from negotiations on their own. The east struck for Nicolau. It was an eastie who told me "Nicolau owes us one." You walked away, not us. And ALPA didn't put a gun to your head telling you to step way. It was all you and no one else.

It was you guys that set up the cage, not ALPA. And it you guys that walked away from final and binding. This victimization disease is rampant among you easties and is truly pathetic. Tae the blame - it's yours to carry.

Damn you guys are a sad bunch. 🙁

You are right. ALPA was Valhalla. Alas I wish they were still here so they could tell me how they would be voting for me. They were so kindly condescending and much more intelligent than the pathetic weaklings and saps who were lucky to be mere MIGS.

No one has to apologize for availing themselves of their options, even if they live in a part of the country that has no clue of what a carpet bagger was.

You guys voted on your own. "Let my daddy vote" sound familiar? Roll call 4 was it?

It was all you boo boo.

Hope you enjoy commuting!
Thanks LSS for your contribution to this conversation. Your sharp wit knocked me off balance for a moment and allowed me to reflect on many things.

Your verbal raping of my soul with that one line has devastated me and zapped me of my will to continue this verbal sparring. You sir have won. I tip my king to you and your intellectual superiority.

To you I say, " uncle."
