US Pilots Labor Discussion

A nice tale but doesn't fit wit reality. AirCal was acquired by AA in 1987 and the pilots were integrated via DOH. AA didn't acquiire Reno till 1999. Are you sure your brother didn't make the whole thing up?

Jim
Wrong again, did you really fly a Boeing? They did acquire them around 1987 and they flew out of San Jose hub for AA. The pilots were not on the AA list, AA some

how put them with Reno Air in the mid 90's . Then they bought Reno in I think 1999, they were then merged into AA, my brother was gone by then.If you need

more accurate dates let me know.

To the best of my recollection, I don't think Reno Air was even around before Air Cal merged with AA. Air Cal and Reno Air never had anything to do with one another other than both ending up at AA.

I was just reading USAPA's manifesto addressing every line and punctuation mark in the Leonidas mailing. Don't care what's in it but I must say it must've struck a nerve for USAPA to feel the need to (attempt to) refute it so strongly. This is a good sign since it means they actually read it. Look for the next installment in your mailboxes soon. And learn something.
Ha! Read it... Nobody read the shiny rag and the outstanding rebuttal... Except of course you!!

jury.... what jury?

Who needs a jury when you can have a Tribunal!

I wonder how many USAirways pilots will be jumping on this bandwagon:

I think your information is flawed.

AirCal went with AA in 1987. Reno Air didn't start flying until 1992.

I'm not certain of the method that was used but AirCal pilots were integrated on the AA seniority list.

Was your brother in the Bay area a supporter of the recently defeated Caifornia Propsition 19?

I was unaware of this but just discovered the following:

Air California, along with its equipment, routes, and facilities, was eventually acquired piecemeal by AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, in 1987. American continued to fly many repainted and refitted AirCal aircraft from a new hub at San Jose International Airport until American transferred the bulk of its San Jose operations to Reno Air in the mid-1990s. American would later take over Reno Air in 1999.

Not so sure about what you say regarding the pilots though. A friend of mine was at Air Cal when they merged with AA. He became an AA pilot at that point. He never had anything to do with Reno Air as far as I know.

The one that Scared the hell out of the Company and forced them to file the DJ. The same one that provides a clear road map of where USAPA is headed...injunction in hand.

Jeeeeezzzz... Look in the mirror dude! Try to take things in context.

I said that PBS is not great. Once again... I'm only contending the notion that there is no other way, hence f/a's and pilots must continue to be paired together. Someone else said it was in stone. I say fine. So be it. But your management wants PBS badly (ie: cost savings) so you can be sure that if they don't get it, they will want to negotiate something else of value away. Contract negotiations are like that. There is always some give and take. At some point the pilots have to decide what is a deal breaker and what isn't. That is the "hill to die on" analogy, or more accurately something you would/would not strike over. Most people wouldn't strike over a crew meal, but would strike over a scope issue. My guess is that PBS falls somewhere in between the two.
This is a HUGE give they want from the east pilots. We gave long enough. There is no more giving as far as I am concerned. The scheduling is sacred. A non starter. This would be a concession and that is not happening. It is not even a place to start.

Everybody got a laugh out of it. And everybody knows that is the LOA 93 pay issue is won, and we are realistic we might not, but if it is won, there is huge trouble for the west with regard to movement.

No, the company knows the west pilots still don't seem to grasp INTERNAL UNION ISSUES. This will clarify it even more than the 9th did. I am sure Judge Silver is well aware of the brilliant work of the 9th law clerks. And what happened to Wake when he got too big for his britches.

Sure ,we all read it was the biggest piece of fictionI have ever seen all B.S... P.S. I did get a few laughs out of it, thanks.
Once again, this is good. The purpose of the pamphlet is to be read. Believing it will come in good time.
... but you guys keep those donations coming.
Appreciate the advice and will comply. If you'd like to donate as well please visit the site listed on the pamphlet. After all, every Westie is currently donating to support YOUR legal effort and Mr. $eham. Isn't is only fair you should donate to OUR side?

Well, the biggest victory was the 9th coming out (thanks to the west filing Addington) and saying very clearly the Nicolau does not necessarily have to be the end all you claim it is. That, is the biggest victory of all.

That's your interpretation of the 9th's decision?
