US Pilots Labor Discussion

Rather well thank you very much. The Company is taking large strides in giving us what we want at the table. The skirmish you've been hearing about is in regard to pay banding of the 777 and 747. (Real big airplanes, for you little regional type folk) Yes there was some interesting banter back and forth from the MEC's last week, but rest assured it is being handled. Unlike you guys, we don't negotiate in public, nor do we buy into the web-board hysterics. We get our info from the source. Not rumors from "my college roommate." What ever happens, it will be settled as per ALPA merger policy, and we'll all move on, with an industry leading contract by the way, and stand by our commitments. Doesn't really matter who's happy with it or not. It's irrelevant. Binding is binding.

Another little tid-bit... I haven't seen the pay rates yet, but I did hear they are "well north" of Delta's. Enjoy your LOA 93 rates 'till retirement.

You guys really have a history of cutting off your nose in spite of your face. When UA is done merging, you'll be lucky to still be in STAR. I've heard some very interesting plans for UA's future, with CO management at the helm. You have absolutely no idea what's coming. But enjoy your little temper tantrum over DOH. 😛 It must burn your butt that you STILL haven't been able to resurrect your career by stealing someone else's seniority. Lord knows you've been trying for almost a decade.

***************************************************
My Best Friend, CAL Captain thinks it's going like do do.... Pissed that UAL is trying to one up this senority thing by separating the 747 from the 777.
Just so you can go say .. hey we get paid the highest paying equimpment and should be higher on the list.

sounds like you just want to overlook your group trying to screw another..

Sound familiar? as in.. NIC screwing the EAST.

Sounds like an intersting theme for a movie. Do you think they can get Sean Penn to play the role of "Captain Mike Cleary?"
I would go with that. Who plays Capt. R*&ss ? Maybe Boeing Boy if we can get him to shave and spike the hair a little..........Cactusgate- coming soon to a theater near you. Intrigue, suspense, a diabolical plot. A nefarious group of pilots, with the help of an evil cast of airline pilots from the west attempt to steal the seniority of another group. Intrigue and suspense build as a west pilot infiltrates the ranks of the corporation via his love interest to access the computer banks to mine data used to cyber attack and again, use the US Mail as a vehicle to attack. This time, no, it is not feces and rocks. It has moved to a higher plateau of diabolical activity. It is a little pamphlet shiner than a pilots pants yet equally as dangerous. Is it true love, or is this a marriage of convenience just perpetrated to access the data? You decide.

I decided:

I think you USAPA leaders/pundits should spend more time trying to achieve the best contract possible for ALL USAirways pilots.

Where did USAPA get the mailing list to send out its organizational propaganda? Did ALPA authorize it's distribution for USAPA use?

You guys are more concerned with the message than where it came from. More deflection from the USAPA spinmeisters.

You've been reading way to many novels of the same genre, what an imagination!

Funny you should say that G. Gordon Liddy and Chuck Colson said the same thing until they got their jewels in a vise in front of Judge Sirica.................

I would like to pose to both sides a hypothetical question--kind of a what if, and would appreciate your honest thoughts on the subject.

WHAT IF there were no unions for the pilots--if they were all at will employees? How do you guys think the integration would go? I realize it may not be entirely relevant since you are most certainly dealing with unions, but I'd be interested to know what you think--on both sides.

That said, for what it's worth, I do hope you can come to some sort of agreement in the not too distant future which leaves everyone poised to move forward.

My BEST to you all.....

HARRISON FORD called, he said he would play HATE2FLY if STEVEN KING could be N924PS! MM!

Since we're talking money and time......One can only begin to delve into the pathos and obsession of groups who supposedly have no connection, yet have a connection so persistent and relentless that it spins into thousands of little shards of anger, never ending. Imagine the things that could have been accomplished had the energy been directed in more fruitful endeavors..............

? Here perhaps this will make more sense........

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy is spent

Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right

And which is an illusion

Swan,

Before the plot gets to thick, you are aware that it is a guaranteed LMRDA right of union members to distribute literature "outside the union hall", as a subset of a union members right to free speech? Also, that free speech can criticize the union, without fear of reprisal, and that an act of reprisal from the union would violate a members rights and subject the union and the offending union leader to some pretty serious repercussions.

So it will pretty much go down like this.

usapa to company-"where did AOL get the mailing list from"
company to usapa-"we don't know go ask them"
usapa to company-"we think you gave it to them, because John only goes by Jack at work, and Mike only uses chiefusapascumbag@uslappy..org for company e-mail"
company to usapa-"well Sherlock we just don't care, discussion over"

usapa to AOL-"where did you get the mailing list from"
AOL to usapa-"uhm...doesn't usapa have a list? I mean...you sent all those unsolicited applications and section 29 letters and such"
usapa to AOL-"of course we have a list, where did you get yours?"
AOL to usapa-"we don't have a mailing list that we are willing to share with you, and what you are asking for is proprietary information of a private corporation, discussion over."

usapa to USAToday-"yeah, we would like to take out a full page ad, calling attention to just how stupid we are."
USAToday to usapa-"Let me guess, momma put you in the corner again, and you want to tell the world you are idiots, okay, that will be $150,000?"

I think that once a petition for a representation vote was allowed by the NMB, ALPA was required to make that available. That has NOT occurred at this time, and if a member of management is interfering with a pending legal action there could be serious repercussions.

USAPA has my full support. Best dues money I've EVER spent.

I'm thinking employee information being given out to an unsanctioned group is a big no-no. You know how they frown on crew room postings and stuffing mailboxes.
I'm sure corporate security would be looking into it...Depending on what database was used, who knows what kind of information was accessed. Identity theft is a big problem in this day and age. It'd be nice for the pilots to know whether or not they should be taking steps to monitor their credit situations. (Yes, "Westies" feel free to insert your loa93 joke here)
If the list did come from the company they should be providing that type of service.

Cool I thought no one listened to the MOODY BLUES anymore BBC radio plays them all the time! MM!

My plotline goes more like this: after the TSA gets involved, seeing confidential flight crew information is compromised to a rogue LLC, the issue goes to deposition before a judge. Leonidas LLC is put on the stand, and asked how they got the information. Jacobs pleads the fifth. One captain, now married to a corporate insider is asked how he came to facilitate the transfer of confidential information, including FFDO pilots, to a third party in order to issue a propaganda mailer. Same pilot takes Fifth. Under further grilling from Lee Seham, armed with information obtained with a Federal Warrant, Capt. R%&^ss explodes a la Jack Nicholson, A Few Good Men. Telling the Federal judge, Wake, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! He is led away to sherriff Joe to a tent in the back lot. This is how it will most likely go down.Ted Reed wraps it all up in a book, which becomes a movie. Saw7, the end of Leonidas.
