Yeah but let me guess - it's in a social science. Big deal. I told my daughter who's fifteen and already proficient in C++ that getting a computer science degree from Cal State is better than any social science PhD anywhere. If you can't solve Schrodinger's wave equation, your utility in the real world is minimal.

I'm glad your daughter is working towards a computer science degree. That's great!!! But C++ won't get her anywhere as it is an old computer language that almost no one uses anymore. It does make for good exercise though.

Absolutely!!! That is precisely WHY that stupidnsurvey is not scientific in the least and would be more useful lining bird cages. It's meaningless drivel. The company kunows that and usapa would have an impossible time proving otherwise. Ever wonder why usapa insisted on a confidentiality agreement from the company? It's because of the thousands of anti usapa comments made in the spaces provided. It was clearly a waste of time and money. I knew the second I saw that survey this is exactly where usapa was going.

They failed and now several pilots will be fired for listening to these maniacs.

That is pathetic. A group can't set aside other issues to honestly answer a SAFETY survey! I would think you would be too embarrassed to admit that.
 
They know that USAPA can't produce anything better and likely not nearly as good as a new union that hasn't devoted themselves to sophomoric attempts to embarrass the company.

Both sides have the common interest of wanting to put this nightmare behind them. If it actually was producing significant gains for a great majority of pilots, then I'd say they want to stand pat (until a court finds that a DFR). The resolution has real value. Pride prevents the east from caving into the reality of Nic. The west knows that their leverage is limited and the timeline is set by the courts. They can find a solution practically equivalent to the Nic that has protections crafted from both sides and which provides a face saving exit strategy.
Perhaps there is some truth to this. I have been saying something similar to this for years. Particularly the part of it being very close to Nic as to make it not worth the pursuit of a DFR, some protections for attrition, and called something other than Nic while also providing some face saving. It was never received well on this forum, no matter how many times I tried to reason it.

What's changed now? Maybe the length of time with no progress, the broken promises, the failed attempts at bullying and intimidation, the pending Kasher loss (IMO). There might be enough support to make it happen now. None of this would sit well with the AFO club, but maybe you are right in that they will soon be marginalized by the silent majority.

this is right on the money. ALPA National screwed up by not starting out with a national seniority list.....however, that doesn't mean we have to go down their "wishy-washy" path.

A national seniorty list would have kept all this BS from happening. The ethics behind it is what we need to follow.....otherwise, it's just a giant cluster fuk with people coming in claiming they have entitlement with each merger.

So now you want a national seniority list from ALPA. OK. Good thing you voted ALPA off the property so you can not get on that list. Leaves SWA, APA, UPS off as well.

Let me guess it would be DOH. But your DOH where? First commercial cert? First ALPA job? Can I get my commuter DOH? What happens if you work for an ALPA carrier, go to a non ALPA carrier and go back to an ALPA carrier? All of your time count only ALPA time count? What happens if the majority lose their minds and vote ALPA off all that time just go away?

So tell us. If there was a national list and AWA ans AAA merged. Would the east pilots on furlough come back as captains or would they be put at the bottom? How about AAA merging with AAA. How would that work?

Keep dreaming but there is no national list. Never going to happen. Pilots have arbitration. Either ALPA or A&M. Essentially the same process. Nicolau ruled that is our seniority list. Get used to it.

No depression here, luvin.....I learned how to cope with that back during the BKs. After divorce, $2700/mo in child support, and eventually Chapt 7 Bk myself, I realized that my kids need for me to stick around, so the BS that goes on these days are minor.....especially after having my diabetic daughter almost die in my arms at 4 am on night.....all during this abortion of a merger. IT'S JUST A FUKIN JOB!......not the career that it had promised to be. I think that most of us on the East are at an age where we can make it a career again, or leave it as just a job, and walk away from it.

Actually, I have lost around 20 lbs, back in good health, and feeling bullet proof again.

Now, I do appreciate your advise on the pics of the logbook that I posted. I intended to just post those for a short period of time as proof that the Safety drive is not a farce, or illegal job action. The next morning, I had the administrator remove them, but just wanted you guys to get a quick look at them.

Honestly, changing the minds of us old farts in the East is a waste of your time at this point....give it another 5 yrs with a bunch of new hires and the attrition, you maight have a good point.

Calling mellow dramatic bs on that one. The ENTIRE EXERCISE was created, drafted, and executed with ulterior motives in an attempt put leverage in the Eastie hands. Well it blew up in Usapas face...like everything else. The whole thing was a pathetic charade. I would think you'd be too embarrassed to act like our intelligence wasn't insulted by the entire, pathetic exercise.

Let me be crystal clear..usapas fake, trumped up survey had NOTHING to do with safety and EVERYTHING to do with DOH. The company and every other living organism knows this. The shame is on your east pilots union lap.

Man, you are just like my little brother.....would argue with a fence post, whether he was wrong or right. However, you do need to work on your typing skills or your ability to speak the English language.....it's hard to follow what you are getting at.

As far as time accumalation with ALPA, you would have to take that up with them, but the pussys never came up with the necessary guidelines to keep some punk like you from coming in and claiming that you deserve my job!!!!!
