US Pilots Labor Discussion

AMR pilots are starting to catch on... http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2012-04-10/amr-executive-says-pilots-doubt-idea-of-us-airways-merger.html?cmpid=yhoo An American Airlines executive said the carrier’s pilots, a pivotal group in a merger, are questioning the ability of potential suitor US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) to orchestrate a successful takeover.

Pilots expect a hostile bid from US Airways and “have very serious concerns” about such a tie-up, Vice President for Flight John Hale wrote in a memo today to American Chief Executive Officer Tom Horton and other leaders at the third- largest U.S. airline.

“I’m confident pilots will continue to be very skeptical about US Airways’ ability to integrate separate workforces or grow the combined company,” he wrote. “The phrase ‘all hat and no cattle’ comes to mind. There’s little indication from anyone I’ve spoken to that a takeover by US would produce greater opportunity for our pilots than American’s business plan.”

You want the West to help, first quit trying to steal their jobs.
Help me here. Was it the east or the west who refused to discuss conditions and restrictions and who was "stealing" whose jobs?

I mean, from my point of view, the west decided to go for the gold after the lottery ticket and the east said, blow me. Classic mexican stand off, though the west pilots might now need to produce their birth certificates.

Hey, so far it is DOH for both parties, and will remain so for the predictive future. The 3% east raises will help the desire to keep rampant greed running seniority into the ground. Face it, the west pilots will likely never fly a wide body. With the downsizing of PHX, good luck, boys and girls. and I voted for Hummel from the beginning.

Have a good day, suckers.

I think you using the word “scab” is a disservice to those who crossed picket lines to take another man’s job. Opportunists is the word I would use. 1800 of them sitting on their couches in 2005, out of airspeed, altitude and ideas while their company is headed to the landfill of Chapter 7.

Along comes Doug Parker with his dreams of being the CEO of a so-called Legacy carrier. He installs East managers along with their self-centered objectives and inferior management style. Correction, dated management style. They live in the 1980’s, well before cell phones and PBS. A world of paper bidding.

Then we get USAPA, those yellow lanyard wearing angry FO’s and their athletic supporters, otherwise known as jock straps. They are angry because they thought a “senile” arbitrator of their choice would give them their DOH dream. They failed to understand that an arbitrator’s job is to arbitrate, not to cave to one side’s desires. He could care less who “wins” the arbitration. The perceived loss by the angry FO’s is just that, a perception. St. Nic left no Christmas presents under the tree and the spoiled brats threw their fit by sleeping with Seham and conceiving USAPA.

The love child of Seham and Angry FO, Bradford decides they are going to make scapegoats out of West pilots for smelling a rat. Frivolous lawsuits are filed and West pilots are threatened with termination for resisting their oppressors. West pilots organize and sue their oppressors. A jury listens to 8 days of testimony and finds in favor of a pilot group and finds that group has not been fairly represented by it’s union. The most overturned court in the union, the 9th, says we understand you may be harmed but we want to see the corpse.

We find ourselves in 2012, seven years after Parker and America West Holdings came to the rescue. I pay dues to a “union” which says has it made it clear that the majority rules and I have no voice. Bull…t. I have a stick called free speech and I will poke my oppressors in the eye whenever I wish.

In conclusion, scab is not the proper word to use to describe the oppressors. I’d use a word more along the lines of leech, a parasite who latches on to it’s host and sucks the life out of it’s victim. Usapians are leeches who take money from me and my family and I will work hard to exterminate USAPA to survive.

I'm smart enough to know you don't try to screw someone then expect them to help you fight.

You want the West to help, first quit trying to steal their jobs.
Not suprising you are so worried about stealing the jobs of the west. You don't think twice about throwing those who enabled you to continue having a job under the bus. If the '89 hires had not come back ,and the newhires starting in '99 hadn't accepted employment at US, US probably wouldn't be here. No ability to acquire the Airbus' and a failing company, but not in your world. You obviously are an aviation God and nothing could befall you if it wasn't for the malcontents. If people hadn't accepted recalls in '07, this company probably wouldn't have made it through the next year. But keep throwing us under the bus, never try to tell anyone you were not strongly in favor of LOA 93.

Sure I will help you out. It was the east that failed to discuss conditions and restrictions. It is the east that is stealing jobs.

I do not give a damn about your scab point of view!

PS. The last whino who I did not give any money to also said "blow me", as I walked away.

Oh, and there is not a 3% raise on the way. That is just your scab union trying to get your continued support.

So usapa just overturned the election of the west pilots to the appeals board. Any of you scabs care to defend this action? The most despicable pilot group ever to grace the sky.

Boy, Spike, you're really reaching with that post...in 99 don't you think that there were plenty of applicants for every pilot that got hired and in 07 don't you think that there were people waiting in line for jobs if the furloughees hadn't come back? Talk about someone who thinks that they're the center of the universe and everything revolves around them...

Good luck, sucker. Oh, wait. Sucker, as in, leech? Who do be the leech? The west who was on a 30 day cliff to oblivion or the east who had all the money? Gosh. I just cannot figger out what happened here. Heh, heh.

The west lives at the whim of the east. Get used to it.

Still making it up on the fly I see...never let it be said that facts got in the way of clubbie's posts...

PS - 3 weeks and counting to that next 3% raise. Don't spend it quite yet...

No Jim, the point is any pilot hired in '99 or any of the pilots hired in '07 would be in the same boat. Thrown under the bus by traitor, and any of the "You'll get yours" ALPA shills, of course since you and your ilk are the ones whom put us in this place in the first place, your respones is not a surprise.

Another nice non-reply. I assume you are implying the company was flush with pilots in '99 and '07 and could have operated without any difficulties with no hiring. Oh wait, the company hired over 1200 pilots starting in '99, and had to continue hiring off the streets after the '07 recalls. You were part of the problem on this property, get over yourself.
