The west disarming doors procedure sucks!...but unfortunatley it works. .. I belive they are taking some of our simplified procedures and making them more complicated but I am sure that goes for the east side as well.

I go on Monday in CLT, first class. I wasn't given any assignments to do prior that I am aware of. *shrug*

The first West integration training class begins tomorrow January 6th. It should be an interesting next few months.

FAs are to get their manuals and their Uniform jacket.

Holy crap....I don't even own one...that fits!! Is this new to you? What about the sweater....Ya, the one I bought at Nordies will that work??? Tomorrow the fun will begin.

...One that made me about laugh was in a planned emergency, FAs are to get their manuals and their Uniform jacket. As a uniform jacket is a sign of authority!

Since they removed all the closets do you have to run to coach and pull it out of the overhead, most likly it wll be in a ball and looking unprofessional and may lesson your authority.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand that America West DID NOT buy US Airways (hence they did not acquire anyone) Several large corporations put up enough capital to, in essence, buy both companies and merge them together. America West did not have the capital to buy US Airways. Even Doug Parker has said that America West was bound for bankruptcy themselves before all this happened.

Nevertheless, and correct me if I'm wrong, don't all of our paychecks say US Airways now? We are all one, like it or not and it will never change because we don't matter. We are the little workerbees that make this whole thing work on a daily basis and put money in the pockets of the investors, Board of Directors, and uppper management. The best any of us can do is realize this and ban together for contracts that allow us to make a living out of this profession.

Me Too...I might bring a mini-buffet so we can stay awake. I'm surprised that you haven't started your assignments--kneeling and crossing ten times per hour in front of a door. You might want to do some stretches first.

Ive got a lot of friends at the other major airlines and this is pretty much policy everywhere... when your on a plane with 20 or so FAs and hundreds of pax in an emergency they want to have something to be standard so passengers recognize who the crewmembers are. Keep in mind that we used to be somewhat on the level of the US majors so had similar practices...

And dont forgot to put all babys on the floor at the bulkhead in a blanket... To become a missle... :down: Get REAL that's the last thing a mother will naturaly want to do!!! PLEASE... :angry: GET REAL. B)

Where do you put the babies? In the overhead with the first class coats? On top of a cart in an ice bucket lol?

I agree (think all f/as do ) that car seats should be required. Note to Moms- being cheap is great but lap child equals dead child if anything happens, pretty much guaranteed.

West gets paid by credit...something like 3 credits per day, so depending on your rate of pay the amount could vary. I think this is a dispute among the negotiations.

The West begins the first class today, YIKES!! Lots of change for us, but from what I hear some change for East too. I just flew with someone from the training department and they said that in this merger they actually looked at both sides of procedures and went with "the best practice". The FAA had some say in which procedures had to stay because of the numbers.

I'm going to the class next week, I'll let you all know. I also know that instructors from the East will be teaching with a West instructor in PHX and West instructors will be teaching with East instructors in the East...I hope you guys get a good one from PHX, don't know who's going.
