Will delta have aircraft MTX in ORD?

A few years back delta had aircraft maintenance in ORD but pulled out, now that delta in close to integrating Northwest in ORD will delta reestablish aircraft maintenance in ORD?

I doubt it in the near future. From the Dir of Line Mtc, we don't expect to open any new stations for at least a year after the merger. Once the merger is down to one operating cert they will wait to see what changes will happen to flight and RON scheduals before they commit to new stations.

Delta is CUT mode. They'll probably outsource any of the routine stuff and call in the crews from MSP or ATL for any of the heavy lifting.

Than will Delta/Northwest keep aircraft MTX contracted out than for the foreseeable future? Or are there plans to reduce or cut back the amount of work done there now?

Everything will stay as it is right now until after SOC and the network changes settle out. So if it a contract station right now it will stay that way. If it was a DL or NW station premerger it will stay as one. Once the dust settles on the network they may open new stations if the workload dictates it.
