I hope the company watches all the following west pilot videos in the link provided below.  These videos are produced and appeared in by former america west pilots over the last few years.  
 
When the company makes their decision on the length of "IT problems" resulting in the delay of west pilots integration, please consider the west pilot "maturity" that was displayed in the videos.

It seems the company is stepping up discipline. A Captain at LAA got caught sitting out of base on his assigned RAP.. And received three (3) weeks off without pay.

Falsifying a logbook was just incredibly dumb. Personally I would like the guy to get his job back if he shows remorse, plays nice, and begs. But since he gave the company a lot of busy work with the FAA (and maybe a fine) who knows if he even has a chance. Sitting a RAP out of base is an internal issue (if they catch you before you fly)... but rousing the FAA dragon from a restful sleep...pitty the fool.

Agreed.  The west pilot should be given consideration after a history of problems check.
 
When you work for a management that turned their heads to RICO charges and identity theft by west pilots, they foster that environment. The charges made of the west pilot, that made the log book infraction, was led to believe that management  would continue to have their head in the sand.   
 
DFW does not have sand as their main soil ingredient.

The Captain was p*ssed I asked the Ramp Controller how may airplanes were ahead of us for takeoff before starting the second engine.

Well trader, as I recall you've got it wrong too. Since I was the captain in question, let me add my version. It has been a while.
 
We'd gotten along pretty well during the trip despite some lively conversation. We agreed on a lot, disagreed on George Nicolau's work. But as far as operating the aircraft, no issues. We had a Republic jumpseat rider on the leg from PHL-RDU. His presence seemed to change you. We pushed in the alley for 27L. I didn't see many aircraft in line, so after #1 was stable I said start #2, as the aircraft had been there for over 90 min and needed a 5 min. warm up. You didn't respond to me at all. You asked ramp control how many aircraft there were in line for takeoff. I again said "Start #2, it needs a 5 min warm up." You asked why. I told you that if it had not been run in 90 min. it needed 5 min. You said "Since when?" So, for the 3rd time I said "Start the engine." If the jumpseat rider had not been there it would have  been a little be a little more lively command as you were pissing me off. You complied and I dropped it as to not demean you. At  cruise I showed you the relevant section in the POH and you said "They must have just changed that." I said "No, it's been there ever since we started single engine taxi as the CFM needs a proper warm up."
 
I was pissed. Not that you might think that we should single engine taxi-we'd done that on that trip as I did it then as I do now. It was the complete lack of disrespect. You apologized for that later and was surprised to see your version of events on here today.
 
As for the rest of the comments about me, there are a couple of facts. God willing, I would have been #1 at Piedmont(the real one) or US Airways. Not on the Nic and who knows about post Nic. With AA I don't expect to break #250-500. But laugh, poke, whatever. I don't care. I'm out on medical and none of it really matters right now. I expect to get back, but have an issue that will put me out there a year at a time. I'd rather not have it, but it puts things in perspective.
 
So, learn without going through it and move on.
