He sullied himself and forever will be labeled as a Usapian. Blame it on Cleary for his error in judgement to allow the use his newly founded fame to try to discredit fellow pilots in court. USAPA will never get him in a courtroom again after Marty stripped him of his clothes.

"We are confident that the rock star effect of Captain Sullenbergers testimony fell flat under the skillful cross- examination by Marty Harper. Marty presented Sully with the TA and a couple of other agreements leading up to the award. Marty then used Sullys own definition of integrity to show that USAPAs failure to accept Final and Binding does not conform to Sullys definition of integrity. For those of you who have not met Marty, he is a distinguished-looking gentleman with white hair and mustache. He is the consummate professional, and their exchange was civil, but elicited a visceral response from Mr. Brengle. During Martys cross, Brengle started objecting to almost every question. Overruled, overruled, overruled... After about five of those, the judge told Brengle to sit down and stop interrupting. The judge did not seem happy to have Sulley in his court because the sole reason he was there was obvious. The plaintiff's were somewhat disappointed (and the defense lucky) that his testimony did not open the door to lingering technical questions about the miracle, or a comparison of the two carriers historical safety records. In the end, the defense didn't choose to utilize the old bird strike defense after all. At this point in the process, it does appear that the defense just plans to stick with the award wasn't exactly what we asked for all along and we are bigger and older and our name is painted on the side of the airplane and we are now USAPA not ALPA and the facts of the case should not matter so it's all OK defense. In the end, his testimony seemed neither that compelling, or relevant."

Wow!  This thread is degenerating into the depths of hell.  It is normally bad, but now it is horrendous.

I'll find peace when you figure out the APA is our bargaining agent and stop feeling the need to "help" West pilots. We've had all the help we can take.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if some news about the NIC being a nonstarter with the APA was disseminated recently. I assume the westies are accustomed to the heat, what else would get them so riled up?

Please tell me that the westies wouldn't be expected to use the same LOS time frame as the easties and the LAA.... Surely not, they are the chosen few, shouldn't they get special treatment?

When the west has to reveal their plans for LAA furloughed, they will be fighting on all fronts. It will be a devastating renunciation of Mitch Vasin et al.
It will not be long until Leonidas faces the wrath of Legacy American pilots.

The west is beginning to get the bad news about their plans. They are in a poor position of one stagnant base with narrow body aircraft. east new hires with 2 yrs have vastly better career expectations and pay than 10 yr west pilots.
When they try and dump on furloughed LAA pilots, they will be fighting east and LAA pilots.
