Claxon said:You are correct. One should never wish ill on any aircrew. It makes me sick when someone makes light of any crash/ incident. Unfortunately, that is not the case here on this forum.

Agreed. 100%EastUS1 said:Then (west/east/whatever crew) it's a sad incident we should all use for educational purposes to learn how to best prevent in the future....Period. Previously expressed "spartan" childish idiocy affords no gentleman any open license to behave equally.
I'll hope none were injured, other some french-built-pos-Airbus, and that we all can learn from the incident.
I "may" sometimes find individual "spartan" children posting here to be complete idiots and total jokes (nic4us/cactusboy/eastcheats/snapthis/et al)....but there are some actual pilots out in PHX as well, and none of them (nor certainly their passengers) do I wish ill.
NO excuse ever exists to sink to anyone else's level...Period. Let's not "cheer" for any aircraft damaging incident gentlemen...lest we foolishly prove ourselves other than gentlemen.

And nobody should rush to judge another until a complete investigation. No one can ever know exactly what another air crew actually encountered, even with a comple NTSB investigation.
427 was evidence of that. Boeing attempted to drop that entirely on that unfortunate crew, who were unable to answer for themselves.

Indeed sir. All I now know, and that only from this immediate board's postings, is that an aircraft was injured and a crew sustained difficulty. I don't care if they're west/east/whatever. I'll give the full benefit of the doubt to fellow pilots at this time.
Again, and as always: "There, but for fortune...." I'm nowadays an "ancient" aloft, and I couldn't even begin to count the mistakes I've made over time that might've conceivably produced unpleasant results, had Dame Fortune not smiled. 😉

Evidently it was an airbus in a phase of "flight" with the auto pilot off. An airbus with the autopilot off is not an aircraft. No pilot should be held accountable for anything an airbus does with the autopilot off. Its a total crapshoot and your odds are set by pencil neck engineers that premised their design on an inherent distrust of pilots.
But its a comfortable cubicle to work in.
Mostly agree with your 1/2 hearted post (sans paragraph 3). In all fairness in regard to paragraph 3, we all feel the same about you, Capt. Simply bringing up stuff like this or championing one's record over another is akin to "whistling past the graveyard" and in extremely poor taste.
You and Spinthis /Eastcheats/Metroyet are the worst offenders, and throw the karma term around loosely. I honestly feel badly for that crew and would never wish it on anyone.cactusboy53 said:Mostly agree with your 1/2 hearted post (sans paragraph 3).
