Maybe they can put a fence around the MD80's so they won't be in consideration either. The flight deck looks like it was designed by John Deere  😉
The sliding window operating mechanism is a wonder of engineering.

All things considered, the DC9 family of aircraft has been very reliable. A testimony to basic simple design philosophy and a heavy dose of "Direct Cable" actuation.

One of your fellow AA pilot illustrates the nuances of the "Long Beach Lunch Wagon":

Long Beach Lunch Wagon, I never heard that one

I watched it and it's like a Lego set with DC 3 to Apollo influences. I guess that those compass mirrors can be useful if you are ever a castaway 😉

Look out guys, Trader Jake just cast us all down to make new friends on the C&R board...

🙂

Yes, the Mesa crowd cannot begin to wrap their heads around anything like it. Tony Badali hangs with Jonathan Orenstein. It is the new wave......he is generally remembered as an innocuous douche.

Jake is laughed at by everyone. Pappy got him everything.

Say whatever you want...but the Nic award IS fair and equitable. You East guys are literally the ONLY group to have EVER suggested it isn't. That should tip you off.
Had it been fair, it would have been implemented...... A long time ago.....in a gala

Sorry if being objective vs talking your own book offends you.

How did talking your own book work out last time?   😀

Don't even try. Pappy bought it all for you. That is why you have no idea of what the real value of an airline pilot is. You are lower than a scab.

Did you even read their proposal before you fell to your knees? Miss the part about our 19 Group IV aircraft (we have 24)? How about the part where they show 180 Group IV Captains but will only credit us with 45? We have more Group IV Captains than that retired since 2013! What about the A350s Jake?

You really take the cake.

I bet you a cake that when this is over the methodology used by the BOA is closer to LAA than the other two.

The numbers for the 350s, Group 4 AC, etc will be corrected by the BOA.

When can we expect to see MC back on the line?

I know he values the airline pilot job as much as you do.

Hah! Rigging that sliding window was fun!

As a mechanic that has worked on the DC-8 and each and every version of the DC-9 family, I am partial to the Douglas way of engineering.

They were fun to work on. I loved the structural engineering of that family of aircraft.

From my perspective, the Douglas was a mechanic/pilot friendly aircraft (old school A&P here), the Boeing is a pilot/mechanic friendly aircraft.

I hope this makes sense to some here.

I apologize for the thread drift down memory lane.

A DC 9 is a DC 8 without a Flight Engineer.

It looks like JA is in a very bad MOOD using caps on the C&R's. He's having a bad weekend, his USF Bulls lost again and his other team, USAPA is running out of time-outs. And to see the grief (or is it Greif) in the stands....AWE

It's been fun to watch.

I'll take two bags please.

Hand me one of those bags of popcorn. Happiness is seeing the Cowboys beat the Eagles. And the NY Giants last week.
