757 With Winglets

Did my eyes decieve me (i was at a distance) or did
i see a U.S 757-200 etops fitted with winglets outside the hanger in PHL, maybe i am mistaken as i passed at speed. If not im sure they will be fitted soon??

I am under the impression the first conversion is scheduled for April and only the ETOPS East 757's utilized for European routes are getting winglits (for now).

Right. They ordered 4 sets. I believe 200-203 (633-630 I think) intitially. They will be modified during the E-Tops conversion.

Actually, they ordered them for 7 B757s . Here is a link to the press release; it talks about both transatlantic and Hawaii ops, but doesn't state which planes specifically would receive them. This summer US-East will fly 6 transatlantic routes with 757s and US-West will fly 5 HI flights.

You're right. In recurrent training we were told that the french ones and the last -2B7's would be modified since they are the newest. All etops capable (and soon to be) are renumbered as 200 series tail numbers so you can figure from there. (Notice 330/767/757 numbers).

i know it's a big difference . but i think that's what he or she saw. think about it, it was painted in the new livery and had winglets . the only a/c that we have in the fleet painted in the new livery with blended style winglets is the e-190. and it was in phl the past few days. just my 2 cents.

A 757 is in heavy now aircraft 203(old 603)so it may get the fit but the Euro aircraft are flying now. To our knowledge none have been fitted with the winglets and flying. We did ask maint and they were unaware of any either.

Thanks guy's it must have been the 190, i know there is a big diff, but i only caught a glimpse in the corner of my eye at a distance of 250 metres for a second.

The 757's with winglets are going to look slick though
