I'm a jr. f/a, but I'm a senior person. I turned 61 two weeks ago. And, I'm all for people working for as long as they want if they can still do the job and enjoy it.

However, there should be some kind of a limit. For instance, the #1 f/a on our seniority list started flying for AA when I was 7 years old! You have to get to #60 before there is a f/a who started flying after I started college.

That's incredible! But, then I have a friend in Birmingham whose father ran his own business in downtown Birmingham on a daily basis until he was past 95 years old. He finally "retired" when he (the father) decided that he could no longer drive himself to work and that it was no longer safe for him to live alone.

The old man moved himself into an assisted living facility, and immediately got a volunteer job at a hospital because he found that he could take one bus from the assisted living center to the hospital without transferring. He is now 105 and still going strong.

Personally, my retirement plan is to be a major burden to my nieces and nephews. It's a fine old Southern tradition to have crazy Uncle Jim in the upstairs back bedroom.

No.He is based at JFK.
From what I understand he is doing very well for a man his age.
I hope I never end up like the crew chief with 1947 seniority in Tulsa.God bless him.

Thanks for the info. I was confusing his 60th with King Ed's retirement that Carty flew back for. I knew he flew in for something, should of figured it was for a twu officer.
