given that the FAA still has a potential HUGE fine pending against AA and it is absolutely true that the FAA increases oversight of airlines in BK and w/ labor issues, it is absolutely prudent for every employee that carries a license or is required to exactly follow FAA rules to do what they are supposed to do.
OT and cancellations are alot better today than they have been recently.. not sure if the imported mechanics is the reason but the WSJ article makes AA's operational issues frontpage news... it was the most read story on WSJ.com.
