What's new

And you want a raise?

Considering that WN knows more about the 737 than any other airline, I guess it makes sense that AA might be taking a closer look at their maintenance program.

AA sure is copying over a lot of WN's way of running an airline... first it was checkerboard gate manning, then distribution, and now maintenance checks....

Maybe the two will merge, and you guys could wind up getting WN pay after all?...

And SWA will have to learn the 717 that they are assuming with the purchase of Air Tran.

Maybe we will get SWA management who have gone to great lenghts to keep employee moral high!

And WN outsources most of their 737 overhaul, and they have been fined by the FAA also.

You want a raise? You want to save your job? Well this is where we are at as maintenace mutts. Example: you go out to the aircraft and do a check. You find seven PAX reading lights inop. So you re-lamp each. Now to get that raise or save your job instead of making one write-up covering all seven positions you make seven write-ups citing each individual position. This way in the eyes of management you just did seven times the amount of work. Believe it or not this is where we as maintenance mutts are at. Simple example but you can get the madness. Maintenace is now a sport, averages and standings, will determine your future.

GPM states all discrepancies shall be written up individually. Pilots that write up 2b, 3f, 22g, 33h and 34d reading lights in one PIREP are wrong for doing so. So I answer that pirep correcting one seat, refer to subsequent items and then write four maintenance entries referencing the original PIREP.

🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

thats a good one

so it will probaly happen

don't worry it still won't be good enough someone will piss and moan

if you told every mech. they will get 5millon dollars , but they had to leave AA, no one would get the money because someone would complain AA is screwing us over lol

Whats your point Paul? So since there's no way to make everyone happy the company should continue to pay us all crap? Are you happy with what you are getting paid?

I was content with what we were making in 2003, before the concessions, and so where most of my peers, bring us back to that (adjusted for inflation) and AA can expect more from us.
