I have yet to see anything go from Express to Mainline, it does go the other way on a regular basis. Given the size of the Express operated RJ's today, they will operate them hourly before having to pay Mainline employees to do the job....Sad, but True. :unsure:Better than no service at all. If the service is a success maybe it will be upgraded to mainline.
King, read back to post 4 (and others). The route will be operated by Mesa on CR9s.E190's are great candidates for both routes, but I think this will more than likely be Republic or Chatauqua on the 170/175 E-JET.
Edited to say:
Routes I had in mind are CLT-SAT and CLT-AUS.

They will be Express, so who cares.
Why would they fly our own planes when they can fly the same exact equipment with a few less seats by a contractor?
And Mesa... that CRJ900 of theirs is the worst ride in the entire US code. Awful.
Not sure, but I probably would’ve remembered that. I always enjoyed the Riverwalk in SAT.Does anyone remember before 9-11 that US was going to start AUS and SAT service? Does anyone know if that was going to be mainline back then?
