Dangerous Overnight

I won't post the E-line that just came out as it references certain LAS hotels but in a nut shell, after a long history of crime and a murder the company sells us out to the lowest price. OK, BS as expected. But AFA just throws thier hand up and walks away. What are these people even here for?
I got this email to Mike Flores forwarded to me and with permission to post I feel the same way!

A quick note to you Mike...If anything happens to me in that property I will hold the company and AFA accountable and responsible. Remember that LIABILITY factor? Hope it was worth the extra $10-20 a room per night. I don't understand why you didn't rip them a new one on this issue.
It's f#@%ed up. Guess you have no balls for these issue on hand. My bad, I thought the unions first job was to protect it's members.

There's also other issues out there that seems to be getting over looked...2hr shows (Den ect) and 16hr plus over nights at airport properties. What's up?

I was at the LAS hotel yesterday and the Starbucks across the street had police tape surrounding it, and cruisers sat out front for hours.

What did people expect? They will sell you out as fast as look at you and they think its a popularity pole. Who cares that they got emails saying stay? You do what you must to protect people as a union leader no matter how unpopular. The company doesn't want to pay the $$$ to move well, you send out an Eline decimating them with the facts. Send out one a day if you need. Post it in the crew room! They have no balls and never will. I hope everyone is safe but all involved just opened themselves up to a huge lawsuit!

This is a pain in the butt over night. You either hate or love it. I for one like it. The hotel is clean, quite, and well appointed.
The staff is great. I have never had a problem there and I just about live there. The only thing I hate about this hotel is the damn elevator. It is a sloth!!

Yes, there are some homeless people in the area but they are everywhere in LAS. Hell, if you want to belly-ache about the homeless....lets talk about NYC. Great godhavemercy!! They wander around with their flys open ..drinking out of a brown paper bag on the street!!

Please don't get me wrong here. I really understand your concern. But this a big city and it attracts the riff-raff of the world. And unless we are in a Penthouse...we will come into contact with said riff-raff.

Vegas is Vegas. It's a trashy town no matter how you put it. You have to stay aware at all times. Hell, you were told that when you got hired.

The 2 choices that the company gave the AFA....WERE NO BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE.

I am all about being in a safe place, but why change if the other choices aren't any better.

Aside from going up to the strip...(which AIN'T gonna happen....EVER) where else would you like to go????

I would love to be the lawyer that makes the case against USAir should my loved one get injured, raped or worse MURDERED! This place now has a record history and all involved hold responibility. It would be slam dunk. USAir knew it was unsafe and kept crews there for cost while AFA twittled. BOOM! Done.

AFA....you are a damm piece of work! I was so upset this afternoon after reading the LONG E-Line that came out today about the LAS property. It kept going and going, and in the end, well to sum in up....AFA just GAVE UP!!

Shame on you! Its sh!( like this that makes FAs here at US stop wearing their AFA pins and just shake their heads at who is representing them. We need out of that hotel and fast! Someone was murdered at the property for crying out loud! WAKE UP!!

Isn't San Remo gone? Replaced by Hooters? Sign me up!!! Yes you are/were right, it was perfect!! But SR was going downhill fast.

As I recall the San Remo was and still is a haven for the low lifes in Vegas. The reason we left the San Remo was because
the staff was ripping off thier customers. I made the mistake of leaving my credit card at the front desk in case I wanted
to order room service....and someone had a field day on my credit card....to the toon of $500.

Not to mention the place was filthy.

I understand the knee-jerk reaction but please....what hotel hasn't had a death or murder? Huh??
