Guess they didn't get the 314 they wanted.....maybe they should have made the offer AVL to a include those with less seniority and those who wanted flying privileges.....

Absolutely. Yours Truly is hanging around solely for that 25 year S3, gold card. If they had offered the 20 + gold card I would have said Sayonara yesterday. What mystifies me is why this is so hard for them? It's clear we're just a bunch of warm bodies, why not let me go off into the sunset and allow someone cheaper (okay, not by much) to take my place? Cost is neutral. Sigh. Silly me, I am making sense again.

Ps. I don't care that it is hard to nonrev, I want the silly thing. (gold card)

What does SEP mean?
It's the $20K voluntary separation package offered to the East F/A group that the company offered when they decided to close PIT. Contractually it had to be offered to ALL East F/As but only 133 took it. They should have offered 1K for every year of service and medical for a year. People would have been falling all over themselves to get out of this place if you ask me.

I would not leave for the 1K/per year, and I already have other medical. They were fools to not offer the GoldPass; that's what many are waiting for.

Really. I never understood why they treat that GOLD CARD like it's the Holy Grail. If the flights are FULL (you will not be going anyways) so why treat it like a Palestinean hanging onto the Gaza Strip? Everyone suspected and expected that the SEP would be UNDERSUBSCRIBED and outside of Team Tempe, fail to realize people ARE NOT going to walk away with many years of service with a payout that barely pays my house taxes. Either UP the Ante or lower the requirements.......anyone with 5years of service should have been included.

Honey, gold pass my @$$. If they lowered the years of service for that SEP I would have pounced on that quicker than a cat on a mouse. That gold card is a joke people. Go to expedia, travelocity or orbitz....you don't need a damn pass. I like my confirmed seat anywhere I fly thank you very much. Now offering senior f/a's a year of benefits or upping the amount I could see holding out for. Sadly folks I don't see the company offering ANY buyouts. I also don't see them displacing due to the cost there too. Just bring back more f/a's from furlough to sit around and join the pow wow.

What does that mean for displacements? Or are they just going to eat the overage until summer T/A?

The company couldn't care less...... It is the union that wanted this. The company just saved a couple hundred thousand dollars.

The gold pass does exist. You have to have 25 years to get it though. Actually, I think that perhaps it really can't be given out early. The 25 years is industry wide, I believe, so to have benefits on other carriers I think you do actually have to do the time (this phrase particularly applicable here at US). I still like the job, so it's not a big deal. In six months I am hoping to be here only two transatlantics and a crummy one day anyway. I'll be the one that can actually still smile on a beverage cart. As I understand it, F/A's also retain their boarding status at S3 as well.

It's just so doggone dumb of them, that's all. I would have been tempted even if it wasn't the full Gold pass. And as I said, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. I want the silly thing. Some us can plan a vacation on what flight is open. Done it many times, it's fun.
