Furthermore, you won't see the words GoldPass or GoldCard anymore since they went away along with all the paper ticketing. It used to be an actual Gold Card that you carried around with you like the Blue Card, remember those?Where is the gold pass in writing? It's not anywhere in the travel policy and I can't find mention of it the contract. Anyone know where to find it, and specifically regarding OA travel? When you pull up some of the carriers on there it specifically states no retirees.
EDIT: Thank you
Eight days would be too much for me; just one four day a month with long layovers.nuthin'
But instead, I'll stick around because it's too easy with this BH system. Fly eight days, get full benefits....hard to give up.

No company sponsored holiday parties necessary either; I’ll just walk over to Publix for some crew brews to be consumed poolside. I'm buyin'!
I'm right there with you. People think I am nuts but I want to have SOMETHING when I walk away from this place after so many years....I too would have jumped on a gold pass for 20+ years....I know of others who would have too.Absolutely. Yours Truly is hanging around solely for that 25 year S3, gold card. If they had offered the 20 + gold card I would have said Sayonara yesterday. What mystifies me is why this is so hard for them? It's clear we're just a bunch of warm bodies, why not let me go off into the sunset and allow someone cheaper (okay, not by much) to take my place? Cost is neutral. Sigh. Silly me, I am making sense again.
Ps. I don't care that it is hard to nonrev, I want the silly thing. (gold card)
"Bitter, party of one, you're table is now ready..."With the upping of the money or offering health benefits for a period of time that the company SHOULD do, I can't believe people would stay for flight benefits. I mean after leaving this MESS you'd want to non rev around? I guess it's a personal thing but when I travel I don't do the "I might get there" kind of trips. I use all the bargain outlets available today and travel guaranteed. Well guaranteed to a degree these days I guess. I just don't see how flight benefits that are "stand by" would KEEP you here. I seriously find that hard to believe and possibly an excuse to hide the FEAR. Some are afraid to leave because there would be nothing else. All their old girlfriends are here, husbands dead and buried with children raising their OWN children. They'd find themselves all alone petting their cat on their lap gazing out the window. Again, hardly believe it's the flight benefits. Going to Hong Kong soon? Please. 🙄

This phase was cool when I was in high school... are we bringing it back?
Should we also say "You go girl!" "Oh no you di-int!" and then declare ourselves "festive"?

Oh, is that what you’re calling it now?<SNIP> They'd find themselves all alone petting their cat on their lap
Actually, as home based businesses are becoming more mobile w/ the internet, my intent would be to non-rev to where I want to spend a day or two...be it skiing or on the beach---and still be able to get on the net and do some work at my leisure. I am by no means afraid to leave, just want to take something with me. Where else can you work that if you are there long enough, you get the benefit of flying for free for life ? No other place that I can think of...With the upping of the money or offering health benefits for a period of time that the company SHOULD do, I can't believe people would stay for flight benefits.
