Fleet Service apathy

mike33,
I have worked as a Grievance Committee Chairperson under the RC team and the ND team. I have remained dedicated to the members I represent regardless of which team wins office. I fully intend to do so in the future regardless of who gets elected. I believe in working with and supporting the team the membership votes for. I do this for the good of the members I represent. US Airways employees vs. UA employees on the slate? Is this really an issue? What does it matter if you have more US employees on the slate if some of them are not qualified and are only on the team to gain votes? Do you think they will remain involved if they or their slate is not voted in? Some have not been involved, or don't have the experience of other candidates leading up to this election.
In closing, I have worked under the leadership of many the past 32 years, however, I have continued to work brother.

I got a look at your slate today, and I must say that I don't recognize many names on it. Does it matter about UA vs US people? Yes it does, as the UA folks don't have much if any of a reputation when it comes to negotiations or much else at US. I no longer receive the "Messenger", but when I did the fact that 90% was geared toward UA was hard to overlook.
I personally would prefer US employees who are "in tune" with what is going on within the company that they are representing instead of a group who only have a slight idea. Sorry, but that's just my preference...

I for one am very serious about the possibility of supporting you for AGC... I know who you are. I know you are eligible, and I know this won't be a bait and switch trick like occupy has up their sleeve. Further, does your slate intend to follow along with the false promise of give-back gimmicks as Mike33 inquired?

I will still vote N/D and possibly choose you and Niblet to join them...
roabilly,
i have chosen to run strictly on my own track record. I believe I have years of experience to bring to the table. i do not proclaim to have cornered the market on all the answers to Fleet Service's problems. Nor do I proclaim to be the most experienced of the candidates on my slate. What I can promise, if elected, is dedicated service to the members I represent. Speaking for myself and my slate, we do not believe in promising things (give back gimmicks) we can't deliver, in an effort to gain votes. We do believe, as our platform represents, in accountability of those elected AGC and the ability for a member to electronically track the status of their grievance. At the end of the day it's about duly serving the membership who elected you for office.

Hey all you intellects, vote for karen or delazey just to shove it up Tims arse, you people don't realize this could be our moment. If Tim is elected US would have recognition unlike the past. Go ahead vote for Rich and Karen, you'll make your bed and lie in it too. Get over your personal bullshit and think about the big picture, not the small left hand corne. You guys would cut off you hand just to be the tough guy and then end up on welfare. Rich doesn't care and the belly warmer doesn't either. By the way, all you know it alls vote for Romney too.

Finally, someone that is running confirms they will not participate in campaign gimmicks! Your honesty, integrity, sincerity, and transparency are worth more than all of the false promise of the occupy agenda combined...

thanks Bro...

You have my vote!

Apparently, you have not been reading this thread from the beginning. Every assertion that you have made is NOT based on fact or reality. We covered what Tim could and could not do weeks ago in detail. The facts are… he can’t do squat to change squat.

You may believe Tim’s rhetoric… but those of us that are experienced and knowledgeable know these are campaign gimmicks and false promises.

I’m sorry you do not agree… one last thing... are you on Tim's Ticket? Let's be truthful...

wings396,
You are not alone. many US members do not recognize UA members on any slate. Likewise, the same is true of UA members reviewing slates with US members. I can assure you the US members on The "Leadership for Progress" team are very much "in tune" with the issues pertaining to US members. We have been with US Airways on average for 25+ years. In defense of any team, regarding contract negotiations, it is a continual battle. UA or US one fact remains a constant. In this industry the company's only concern or obligation is cost and return to the shareholders. It's easy to stand on the sidelines, play monday morning quarterback and insinuate I could have done a better job. One can promise anything. The fact that much of "The Messenger" is geared toward UA coverage and issues does not really bother me. UA does outnumber us, within the district, by a very large margin. This does not mean, as some would like you to believe, that UA is our enemy. They are in fact, our sisters and brothers, who have experienced the same hardships, at the hands of their employer, as we have. We must not allow ourselves to be mislead into thinking the UA members are our foes.

Don't ever take offense. I ask because i have that right if you want my vote. I also have the right to know who is usair and who is United etc..... Many a member truly believes that this is a United union. I don't. I believe this is an IAM union so i ask because some won't or don't want to....... I will give you the benefit of believing the " Brother " remark was one of solidarity and not derogatory.

Wings,

Ograc, wants you to believe that fairness is a dirty word. The Occupy 141 team wants fairness between UA and US and that means we want to bring our AGC per member count down to the same levels as UA. So, ogracs insistence that by making the per capita equal that we are considering our UA brothers and sisters our foes. Hogwash and ograc reeks of indecent politics as any fair minded US AIRWAYS member can clearly see that you are 'second best'. Ograc, doesn't care though, he is duty bound to support a UA president that he has supported along with Canale. His ticket has less representation on it than before you merged with America West and it's worst than bare bones. Remember, this guy was a huge Canale supporter and always gave his station support to Canale. Canale was absolutely terrible and worst than Delaney.

He claims his ticket is solid because it has US AIRWAYS employees who have over 25 years working for the company. Who cares? The members know who to support and PHX made it loud and clear that Ograc's PHX AGC got his arse handed to him by a super wide margin. What is worse is that Ograc's PHX AGC doesn't even support ograc. Did you know that ograc's PHX AGC publically renoucned ograc's ticket and is now on Delaney's ticket? And ograc's CLT AGC is terrible indeed! It just wasn't possible for CLT to stomach endorsing him. Ograc has always been in the shadows of others but when I asked him why they left out PHL, your biggest hub, he said he could handle PHL from JAX because it's "Only 2 hours by jet". What you should all know is that if this guy doesn't understand the fairly basic nature of representation and that PHL needs someone from PHL who IS THERE and not on a JAX patio, then what else can he possibly understand? Then the guy proclaims the occupy 141 ticket's give backs as false. How does he know that? Can he say that with certainty? Of course not. The give backs are going to happen. Bottom line because they have to. I don't expect ograc to understand that, especially since he thinks he will represent 1,700 folks in PHL from a JAX patio.

Sheesh!

What do you know Roabily? Please tell all of us what promises are false? If you think some things are campaign gimmicks then it's better to say, "I don't believe Tim's platform but if it happens then I applaud him for giving back". But you have no verifyableness or no certainty to make such a statement that you are experienced and know these things to be campaign gimmicks. What if you are wrong Roabily? It's incredibly unfair to claim dogmatically that you know these things to be false.

Roabily, you are out of character and I really don't know why. I really don't mind if you aren't going to vote for me due to your preference for Delaney but you have allowed yourself to grind a personal ax for some reason against me. Roabily, is it wrong for a union leader to support management on a part time wage scale that tops out at half of full time? Anyone should be able to answer that question as Absolutely! But since the New Direction was the one to hammer those Hawaiian members, I'm not so sure that you would be willing to admit the obvious.

And, let's say AMR and US merge. Would you be in favor of me or Delaney or anyone else dragging out your contract talks for 3 years but then scrapping them and hitting the 'push start' button on new surveys, etc if I or anyone else said, "Well, we have to go into transition talks now"?

Onward!

Tim,

Ograc sounds like a legit guy who I would support over anything you have to offer any day. Keep attacking the good ones Tim because your team of unqualified US AGC's is what we all need. NOT. Get real.

As we have seen, an experienced agc doesn't always equal a good one. If they are more for themselves than they are the members, what good are they? I'm willing to give others a shot with the hope that they deliver what the others haven't.
Based on what I have learned on here so far, Tim will be my choice. None of the other candidates have even had the nuts to go by their real name up to this point, while Tim has always done so. This speaks volumes alone.

One of solidarity. You absolutely have the right to gather the information needed to make an informed decision. There was never any offense taken. I apoligize if I gave that impression.

Question: Are you on Tim's ticket?

Niblet,

What experience does your AGC candidates running on your ticket have? Especially the ones running out of the hubs CLT, PHL, and PHX. What makes them qualified for the AGC positions? Have they done any grievance hearings? Have they had any training like shop steward, leadership1, 2, and 3, etc.. I think alot of the members would like to know the answers to these questions before the election.
Niblet,
Still waiting for a answer!
