What's new

Fleet Service apathy

At one time we had a 767 out of Bos to Fra I think. It is also a catch all for any Int'l that turn back for maint if they can't make Phl.

That might explain it. I didn't know that. On the flip side, I don't know when the CBP seals came about, but here in LAS I've never needed one, even when we still had the MEX flight.

while myself and others have asked what he has done to merit reelection we have seen nothing or that Tim is this or Tim is that

sorry boys and girls I'm not going to vote for Delaney just because he is not Tim

I like this post. A lot. Only thing is that it works both ways. Honestly, the only true campaigning that I have seen has been from Tim. Everything else is from members on this forum saying Tim or RD is evil and here's why. You're absolutely right, no one should vote for RD because he's not Tim. You fail to mention, however, that no one should vote for Tim simply because he's not RD.

I thought we were past the giveback issue. It will happen. I for one will do it reguardless of what you'all think. If and when I'm elected to a 2 yr AGC position you will all see that on the first and every check. I know its not tax deductible. It will be post tax and payroll deducted. I know my local could use the help and I'm sure other locals are under funded while the International and Districts rake in most of all dues collected.

Mike33,

I assume you are joking, right? No, I'm not a murderer and I haven't been murdered either. Geez, I can't say two words without you guys taking things out of context.

Onward!

Tim, I am 60 yrs old and not very gullible. Those were your words not mine. I knew in what term you were using the word " Whacked " , so don't have everyone think i assumed otherwise.

" Whoever the president becomes will have the ability to assign up to 8 new AGC's. I will be incredibly insistent that any of those who I appoint would have to fall in line by sacrificing back to the masses. Trust me, being an appointee myself at one time, if you don't fall in line, you get whacked "

Your words not mine. i assumed you meant fired and i know you did.

necigrad that is well taken also, however we only have three choices so everyone will have to make a choice with what is being offered.

As I have stated as it stands today status quo is not an option for me ,however I intend to look over each slate to make choices for agc's. There are two in the ND slate that I can't see myself not voting for

Let us not fail to mention there will be another slate of candidates on the ballot. One with an alternate choice for President than RD or Tim. The election though, should not focus soley on this position, but on the other candidates for the respective positions they seek. The focus should be on qualifications for office and which members represent the best choice.

cltrat,
As a voting member you certainly have the right to vote for your choice of candidates regardless of the slate they are on. As I have stated before the focus should not be on politics, popularity or what station a candidate is from but on the qualifications the candidate has to offer for the respective position they are seeking election for. I hope most of the eligible voters in this election, choose to review each candidate's qualifications, set the politics aside, and vote accordingly, like yourself.

niblet, that certainly is admirable. My point is that Tim is promising that everyone will do it. He can't follow through on that promise, as already two on his ticket have stated they won't do it. Until Tim stops making this promise that can't be kept it will keep coming up.

Very true. All anyone really talks about on here though is ND or Occupy. I saw your one mention of your ticket, did an internet search and couldn't find anything. ND and Occupy are getting all the press so to speak around here, so they're the ones that get mentioned.

orgac, however, has made the point that bears repeating. Don't vote for a position or ticket, vote for qualifications. Also make sure you place enough votes so your vote is not discarded.

And not everyone on the Occupy ticket will be there to do it. 2 of them are just filling in the blank spaces I'm gathering is what others are saying. Meaning they are not able to be AGC but are able to be on a ticket and replaced afterwards. So, who the hell are you voting for? Appointees?

I see the DOL getting involved with this election once its all said and done.

necigrad,
Our mebsite will be up within a matter of days from what I've been told. All of the candidate's bios will be posted along with the platform of the Leadership for Progress slate. As a preview though, a couple of platform positions specifically address the lack of effective grievance handling and accountability of the AGCs. The team will initiate an electronic grievance tracking system, available to all members, to track the status of their particular grievance. The AGCs will have to file a report with the President and appointed committee for review every quarter concerning the status of grievances filed within their stations. Heightened accountability of the AGCs will be addressed. These two issues are a common concern and complaint throughout our system and United's.
Going forward, when everyone fills out their ballot, it is indeed critical they vote for the total number of candidates eligible for each position. AGC vote for ten means vote for ten. If you vote for nine your ballot is considered void for that position. Absentee ballot, and those who qualify, is another issue I plan to address going forward.

Good luck to you and your ticket Ograc. I know you are a good Union man. I know we feel the same on a lot of issues.

So if 1/3 of the AGC's get in from each ticket, which would be 7 each you will still have money taken out even if the other 2/3 say no?

mike33,
I have worked as a Grievance Committee Chairperson under the RC team and the ND team. I have remained dedicated to the members I represent regardless of which team wins office. I fully intend to do so in the future regardless of who gets elected. I believe in working with and supporting the team the membership votes for. I do this for the good of the members I represent. US Airways employees vs. UA employees on the slate? Is this really an issue? What does it matter if you have more US employees on the slate if some of them are not qualified and are only on the team to gain votes? Do you think they will remain involved if they or their slate is not voted in? Some have not been involved, or don't have the experience of other candidates leading up to this election.
In closing, I have worked under the leadership of many the past 32 years, however, I have continued to work brother.

I for one am very serious about the possibility of supporting you for AGC... I know who you are. I know you are eligible, and I know this won't be a bait and switch trick like occupy has up their sleeve. Further, does your slate intend to follow along with the false promise of give-back gimmicks as Mike33 inquired?

I will still vote N/D and possibly choose you and Niblet to join them...
