but what is the status of Northwestern University's football team? there's reason to be thankful there.
NCAA is a dying organization. Soon enough the power 5 will break off of it.
However I don't think the unionization in college sports will take off. Things like Title IX are really going to be a limiting power in what these football (and some mens basketball) players are thinking they will change.
Start paying football and basketball players the women's rights groups are going to be knocking at the door for money for them. (even though most women's sports are costs for Athletic depts.)
*note not a shot at women, some women basketball is profitable (or at least cost neutral) but most sports in college outside of mens football, basketball and baseball are loss makers or at best cost neutral. Things like football pay for these sports. For example at UGA, football makes up right around 80% of revenue. UGAA is a football heavy dependent program, places like Kentucky are closer to 50/60% football and 30-40% from mens basketball.
Sorry, went off on a bit of a rant there.

Yes, because a roof over your head, 3 squares a day and a paid for education, isn't enough!
no its not. As i have been dealing with this season with a star tailback
How is it fair that Todd Gurley can't sell his own name but the NCAA can and make BILLIONS off of it (that Billions with a B)
Or do you think its fair that he gets 100K or so worth of a ship while the NCAA gets billions?
